On mockups, make sure your design placement and size is as close as possible to what you use on your POD supplier. So that what customers see is almost exactly what you have programmed to print.
And colors! Your phone and laptop and tablets may view the colors differently. Most people use phones it seems. So phones typically have more vibrant colors. Make sure your mockup design is colored to match your sample product when you order. Your design profile you upload to the POD company may be slightly different than your mockup design (and name them accordingly) so that what you see on screen is what you see in real life.
Make a design of numerous colors and their hex name front and back of the tee can be used. Then you can see all the colors. I suggest using black and white shirts to test your colors,. You are basically making a swatch on some shirts. Maybe pick 2 or 3 other popular color shirts as well.
Also you need to do line thickness and font test as well. Font size and clarity is important.
Yeah I have used AI but you got edit colors, create outlines, delete backgrounds, eliminate gradients on the edge. Maybe even covert to halftones. But AI doesn't have cleancut vector graphics. I have to convert everything and edit colors, shadows highlights etc...which I use coreldraw to do that. Super fast.
ОтветитьIf I have a picture that stands alone I'll use just that, white is often popular on any color shirt. But some pictures are colored. If there is a picture but can use some text then I make the picture first and create text to fill in where needed. If I were to use AI it's for graphics only and always have to edit them, adjust colors and convert to curves which is a feature on coreldraw 2018 I use. You need a vector image. Then I can play with text and fonts and make them grunge or distressed. Find a good graphic design software. Canva can be good and they now have affinity design so you may look into that... I use scribus for desktop publishing instead of paying Adobe..but affinity is a small flat fee for software you own.
For colors....I like to color fonts at times to slightly contrast with the shirt color. Like light blue text on navy, or mint green on grass green, pink on magenta etc. White and black fonts work well on most. But sometimes black doesn't work with dark blues, dark reds, browns, dark gray, dark purple etc. And white may or may not be good as well.
If I have a phrase, I may split it up with different fonts if there are multiple parts of it. So if you have a comma or particular niche word you may can make it it's own font. I'll do the text layout and create graphics based on the phrase to fit and fill..
So, first I have to say thank you for this course. Secondly I would like to point out the importance you explaining to pick a niche that you enjoy! This has motivated me beyond belief, I have tried many businesses finding myself quitting not because of lack of motivation but simply its not something I enjoy! I work a 9-5 job that pays well and I spend a lot of time on the computer so finally I have found a business that I can start that I thoroughly enjoy. I have picked a niche that I am extremely passionate about and also am part of a community that has 1000s of people. Im going to dive deep and possibly join your group as well.
Im so glad I found your gem of a channel, thank you for your efforts and I am looking forward to this endeavor.

ОтветитьI started selling online when I tried my hand at printing on demand. At first, I also tried many platforms, but after a while of learning, I realized the price difference between POD service providers. If there are embroidered products, Merchize will be stronger, but if the order is in the US, some products from Printify will ship faster
ОтветитьHello everyone. I got stuck in the setup demain. The screan Iam getting does not show all this. The .store one.
ОтветитьUnable to see shopify payment in (payments ) section
ОтветитьGod bless this man! May you never lose your heart!
Giving selflessly is blessing you!
@Shimmy Morris I've been using this guide to develop my business over the course of the last 2 months. I've just gotten my first few sales and i just wanted to say thank you for everything. Keep up the great content!
ОтветитьLove this course Shimmy! Thank you, I wish I started with your course first. Very detailed and perfect for anyone that is non US citizen.
ОтветитьHello Shimmy I need your advice, I am thinking about starting in gym nieche but not sure if people would wear custom shirts and replace that fit shirts that they use now? What do you think that I should do?
ОтветитьHi team, the "30 t-shirt design templates" in the community hub is not downloadable in a .fig file or the file type that I can upload to Figma and be able to click a specific template and work on it. I've downloaded other files with no problems. Please help. Thank you.🙏
ОтветитьIt's really impressive how Print On-Demand became a method. Nowadays, you might feel overwhelmed with a lot of information, not knowing where to start, and I'm grateful for this type of videos.
ОтветитьOmg, that's an important video for me, even though i won't be using this platform, i've made and extensive research on the best ones i could use in my country and i'm still stucked between printy6, zazzle, redbubble, and spreadshop, heard plenty of good and bad stuff about each of them and they all have issues, so i'm still studying. I tend to get scared quite easily before every new thing in my life, and i'm trying this out in order to make a living without having to work for other people (and leaving my house for the majority of the day), so this video is really helpful for me, hopefully i'll comment again after some months telling good news
ОтветитьI really need mentorship please. Please how can i mentored by you, what will it take to be mentored sir?
ОтветитьIt's been four days, 118 link clicks, 16 likes, one share, one save...but no purchases. People seem to like the design why not buy? (I'm on Merch by Amazon). What am I doing wrong? How to get them to buy? Shirt is priced at $15.99 -- this is my first time trying this. My budget is $50.00 for 7 days, $22.00 spent so far. About $0.19 per click. Using Advanced plus.
ОтветитьWow thanks🎉
ОтветитьHow is the mockup different than Etsy?
ОтветитьTotaly new to POD, cant design at all, what do you think about Canva? I found it pretty easy to create designs and get started with.
ОтветитьI have already started a POD business. First I wish I had seen this before I started but either way, it’s still been so educational and insightful. I have lots of new learnings I can apply to my business. Thank you so much for your time, really appreciate it!
ОтветитьThank you so Much ❤
ОтветитьIs location a niche that would work? For example Oklahoma
ОтветитьHi Shimmy! A subscriber from India here! I couldn't go with Printify but went with a native alternative called Qikink here... On it, I can only upload separate products as per male/female/oversized/crew neck fits to send to the shopify store and even though the design is the same I have three different products on it as per the fit or sex. How do I deal with this? Should I add separate collections and organise my shopify website accordingly? Would be great to get your input and have thoroughly enjoyed the rest of your process. Thanks!
ОтветитьI am what you would call a geezer. I'm having difficulty setting up a mood option. Could I put the screen shots of the designs I choose in a file folder? Thanks.
ОтветитьHi shimmy I hope you see this…I’ve followed every step, I have my store in my portfolio but when I get to the ‘ad image’ section my store isn’t showing in the identity section it only gives me the option to create a page. Any idea where I’ve gone wrong?
ОтветитьThis is one of the very best print on demand video. I continue to watch to learn as much as I can.
ОтветитьHi, Under template the training shows to add icons with text. I don't have this option. Is this something I need to download?
ОтветитьHi, can you turn on the audio or subtitles in Spanish? Thanks
ОтветитьHow do I become a student of yours? I’d like to jump right in and start right away.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI wanted to start PoD and saw this video - great resources!! I feel that I am equipped to start! My question after watching the entire video is - why do we have to find a niche first? Can it be say, kids clothing with all kinds of designs? Can it be sport themed (including biking but also others)?
ОтветитьFor me, the templates are just a .png image?
Ответить❤
Ответить1.5 is the normal speed
ОтветитьWell TeeSpring is CRAP!!!! I made around 180 in Profit and requested my Payout and never received it it's been over a month I can't get a hold of anybody. horrible!!!!!!!
ОтветитьThank you, thank you ,thank you for this! I've been researching how to start a POD business for a long time. I've found a few good channels, but I started watching yours back in the spring, and your channd is by far the best one I've found. You are honest and thorough, and you have a sincere desire for your subscribers to succeed. Your channel channel gave me the confidence to finally take the big leap and get started after 2 years of researching POD. Thank you for all you do for your community..
ОтветитьThe fact that you are walking us through designing a shirt is an absolute blessing. I appreciate this tutorial more than you’d ever imagine. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьI’m making my way throughout this training. One question I have - can I make a larger Domain name / Store to encompass different niche? Or are you recommending have a domain name/ store for each niche I.e cycling, baseball, cooking, etc? Thank you so much for this!!!!
ОтветитьWith the whole merger with Printify and Printful, would it be worth it to wait before their dust settles a little before subscribing to Fyul, or should I just jump in?
ОтветитьI am a new POD seller on Etsy - for the same reason like most poeple - need another source of income because my pay isn't increasing as quickly as prices are going up. I opened the shop in the end of August 2023, but soon realized that I needed to do much more research. So I actually posted a few listings only in the end of September. One month after that I got my first sale. I paid for my first Etsy ad on the 30th of December 2024. My store has only 37 sales but today I got my Star Seller badge! Thank you very much for your honest, encouraging and no nonsense videos. Your videos helped me a lot when I would get 1 sale a week while others would get like 30 sales a day. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
ОтветитьWhy are there so many prefabricated comments on these videos?
Ответитьnamelix is OP. why havent i heard of this??
ОтветитьVery helpful video for my venture into POD. I was looking into use Shopify for my store but the reviews on Trustpilot are really bad and I am thinking of using Wix. As a beginner to POD I do not want to get this wrong, do you have any views on why the reviews are so bad as Shopify is mentioned alot as a store to use.
Ответитьhi mate, fantastic video! just a quick question...i haven't quite got to the end of the video but before i forget, where can i find the information i can use for washing instructions, returns policy etc? i tried looking in the hub but i couldnt see any links anywhere. cheers
