People don't talk about money because (1) they are insecure about their financial situation, (2) they don't know what financial shape they're in because they're lousy in managing their finance, (3) they let their fancy cars and homes do the talking (or lying). Most of the times it's no. 2. Even if someone tells me about his finance, I have no way of knowing if it's the truth. You basically have to talk to his accountant to find out.
