I saw Rory and his band in Cologne 1973, great show, BTW: ticket price was DM13. (And you could see the STONES in 1972 for US$5.50, he he he...1 US$ more than the other usual touring bands in the U.S.)

Stunned. I've been a fan for a long time, but not as early as I would wish. Have a taste album, but live, the intensity is MAXIMUM!. Now I feel it would changed my life if I'd seen him back in the day, when I was 14.

Just frantic in the best possible way! A little bit of Hendrix, but not at all imitative. Jumping through the same hole in the universe that Jimi and Stevie and all great musicians go to - leading us all to strange and wonderful new shores. Wow!!

Okay,it all makes sense now. EVERYBODY else,all the other epic classic rock bands, followed Taste and Rory Gallagher. Page,Clapton,Hendrix,Knopfler,Free,etc,...on and on forever. Kind of freaked didn't find out until now.

His guitar still had paint on it, so you know it's old.

2024 and the Strat is up for sale. I hope whoever gets it takes it out on the road and lets us hear it again.

i saw rory gallager in 1975. the next day i met him in a jeans store buying a pair of jeans. amazing guitarist. he died much too young.

First saw him in 1972 at the Lincoln Festival. The highlight of the weekend for me. Saw him many times over the next few years. Last month, we visited Ireland. First stop after picking up the car at the airport was his grave to say thanks for the memories. RIP Rory, the sound of my teenage years.
