For the moment I followed your suggestion about reading EU in release order so I am 30% into Heir to the Empire. Having a good time and I have some thoughts. But interesting reading. Keep up the good work guys!

Phasma and Bloodline are amazing books to the point I remember exactly where I was when I read them for the first time. I would really love for their authors to write more sequel era content as they just seem to get it. (I haven't read Shadow of the Sith but I've heard good things about it so would love Adam Christopher to write more in that era)
