What should we do with the roots and essence that we still have from last year. Can I still use my old oil still?

I do have a serious question. This is long.

With this I am literally not trying to say this "is" Hoodoo or any African related practice, idea, or belief. When you say spirit, do you mean "also" an, how to say, living and walking spirit in everyday life? For example, instead of "feeling the energy" of a spirit, a spirit literally pushed me in my chest before I got hit by two cars. My mother all her life actually sees (rather than "sees") spirits (she doesn't have a mental health condition). In Hoodoo, when you say spirit, do you also mean this as well? Working with spirits in addition to plant, animal, only or is it both actual walking spirits (lack of better words) as well.

Sorry, this sounds kind of sci-fi or new agish, but the only times I've heard people mention about seeing and hearing spirits are when, say, a loved one died (like myself), traumatic experience, near death, or in some types of meditations and prayers. But they were never explained as energies but actual real interactions you can feel, see, hear, or smell (like a loved one's perfume). I told my mother she should look into what she has. We did our genealogy and on both sides of my family are all south (GA/NC/SC/LO/etc) and Nigerian (found this out recently not just genealogy) but no culture at all (I didn't know my family down south well enough, we stopped going down there when I got a bit older-to know other than they being christian. I'm in VA) I did watch your video on how, instead of saying christianity "influenced" Hoodoo practices but practitioners adopted into it.

Sorry this is long. If anyone can give me an insight if you follow hoodoo culturally?
