This is why we have existential threats today like the Ukraine crisis, for the profits of American arms manufacturers. Mitch McConnell spelled out that the US doesn't send a penny to Ukraine, US taxpayers pay for equipment replacement to be brought forward a few years while the old equipment and munitions being replaced get shipped to Ukraine. The taxpayers pay and corporations reap the benefits from the loan conditions imposed on Ukraine.
