Blurry images insult the work. Bad reproductions are even worse than NO reproductions in demeaning his vision.

I think that what Bonnard did was essentially an extension of impressionism - but his later paintings at Cannes, etc are truly wonderful. Full of blazing incandescent light and colour!! Fab!

I wasn't really aware of Pierre Bonnard's work until very recently. It seems that many people are very quick to disparage Bonnard and his work. I, however, find his paintings to be delightful and often conveying a feeling of joy through his bold, bright choice of colour and his interesting compositions and ideas/ subject matter.
