The SE 4100 sounds really neutral on your voice - but I think I like the '58 better. The Rode is a tad zippier on top. I like the Rode more.
ОтветитьJesus Bark! I love Rode mics & that NT1000 sounded crispy on your voice! Also I have a Rode NT1 Signature Series & I'm pretty happy with it!
ОтветитьIt does sound GREAT! For me.. only at the lower price point considering there’s so many out there at the regular price that I can’t make my mind up on 🤣
ОтветитьWatching this on zero volume while at work and I still prefer the Rode to the SE lol nossir. Never got my hands on a 4100, but I’ve used the NT2a which I believe is just the multi pattern version of the NT1000..had a warm yet crisp, not harsh top end. Very up front modern sound. Channel’s growing nice work
ОтветитьI was like wait is that my mic that you're using? then you mentioned it was the 4100 😢(mine is the 4400a) . Love SE mics they're great :).
ОтветитьNT1000 sounds a bit nasally, like you've got a cold. sE 4100 all the way.
ОтветитьI love a few Rode mics but I tried the NT1000 and found it a little grainy in the top end.
ОтветитьFor singing the Rode might be better in the mix, but for VO and streaming the SE might be a little better because you don't have to tame the high end as much. I'm curios on how the Rode might perform on a thinner and higher pitched voices? On a deeper voice like yours it sounds amazing, especially for the price!
ОтветитьI agree. The NT1000 is kind of like an advanced NT1A. It sounds really good and has that extra brightness on the top-end which you'd probably normally want to EQ out a little. Both microphones sound good and both have their place. I'm not really sure which one I would pick.
ОтветитьThat "rod" is the same thing that came with my sE Electronics Reflexion Filter SPACE. It attaches to the front of the base of the filter and you screw a mic shock mount (or mic clip) to the smaller end before adding your mic. In your case, this mic came with a ring mount which you can screw onto that rod. I don't know if RODE has some sort of reflection filter they sell too (or did when this mic was released) that you can use that thing for or if it's for other filters or even other setups.
ОтветитьMan, I love the sound of the 4100. 100% agree with your opinion when comparing the two. Rode good, but crispy, 4100 so well-rounded.
ОтветитьI think rode needs to do a budget multi pattern condenser just to stick it to the rest of the companies in the industry. Like a nt2 signature series.
ОтветитьAs you said, the first thing I heard is a bit of a high shelf. But for the rest it is very well rounded. This is a great singing mic!
ОтветитьThat rod looks like it's from an SE Relexion filter. Did some work with one of the nt1000 when they were new, I never understood why the nt1a got all the love. These were great.
ОтветитьI have a question for you, do all those mics start to sound about the same after trying all of them? :) I mean not the same, but if put in some bigger picture the better question is are they really that different? :)
