In this video I’m going to be sharing with you one of my favorite presets for playing slide, as well as some tips I have on creating your own slide designs. The base tone involves two compressors, an EQ block, the Divided By 13 amp, and the Dr. Z Interstate cab. I’ve modeled compression after my Origin Effects Slide Rig compressor and so I’ve named this preset “SlideRig.”

In the signal chain, you’ll see the two compressors and the EQ block running in parallel with a dry through line before hitting the amp/cab block. This is so that we have control over blending wet/dry signal paths and effectively have a single parameter that we can assign to some footswitches. Footswitch 1 will switch between regular guitar (fingers/pick) and slide modes. Footswitch 2 adds a bit more overdrive to the signal. Footswitch 3 is a solo boost.
