ОтветитьI think people just care about skills and not age .. I'm 40. Started hacking at 37 after a 10 year break
ОтветитьI'm moving from being a lab technician in a hospital to coding at 31. Just completed a bootcamp and I am taking some time to plan how I should allocate my energy to increase my chances of landing a developer role. I need to do some fully independent projects, sometimes it can be demotivating to see how the standard for getting an entry level role is just exponentially increasing but all I can do is keep putting in the work and apply.
ОтветитьIll turn the big 30 this month. I can't believe im this old already. I fear being the oldest at at a SE job if i ever land one.
ОтветитьSorry mate for doing this, I appreciate your content and I myself am teaching myself to code. I am currently working through the Odin Project.
I am in the foundations section, I am setting up my coding environment and I am going to using the virtual machine but after setting up Xubuntu in VirtualBox and can't for the life of set myself up as administrator.
When enter my password to authenticate myself in the sudo group, I am just getting a sorry can't authenticate you?? 🤔 Help! Again sorry if this is a bit cheeky
Thank you!
I don't know man, I'm 34 and feel old.
ОтветитьI'm 43 and decided to go to University - Software Engeneering 2 years ago. I still work during daytime on a different area, while going to Univ. at night.. it's not been easy.
Ответитьlol, i learned to code at 13 orso and have done it partime for over 15 years. then i moved to another field... now im 56 and i picked up javascript and webdevelopment again :) maybe not for a rol as developer but in cybersecurity where i work it is a great skill to have :)
Ответитьhi sir, your videos and thumbnail can be edited better and can be improved, do you need help in editing?
your videos are actually helpful to me, just subscribed your channel.
Hi Joe,
I began to learn to code at the ripe old age of 49, initially using Python. I then did a Cybersecurity bootcamp last year, although I enjoyed it, especially the (Python) coding aspect of it, I felt that Cybersecurity was not for me, as I have a Fine Art background, having studied it at University. I felt that Front End/Web Development would suit my creative/artistic side better. I am now working through the Web Development path and the Front End Engineering Certification on the Codecademy platform. I wish to change my career in 2024, but I feel unsure and daunted about how I could actually achieve this. I would be really grateful for any help, advice, or even mentoring that you could give to me.
Kind Regards
Benjamin
I'm doing freecodecamp/codecademy in my spare time. Working on HTML,CSS + JS. Want to change careers. I currently work in a hospital in England on £37k. Did you have difficulty switching to a junior developer salary? e.g 40k drop to 25k?
ОтветитьI'm 34 too and just started learning to code and I'm also starting with the freecodecamp html stuff. I hope I can do it just like you have!!!
