False Flat Bingo! Great resume of the coverage.

False flats with a head wind is probably the most mentally tough part for me you push hard it looks about flat but your only going a percentage of what you would on a actual flat at least when you go up a hill you know your going to slow down

Pogacar team mates for tour in my opinion , Adam Yates, Marc soler, Rafal Majka, Juan Ayuso, Damien Novak, Matteo Trentin , mikkel Bjerg, tim wellens

What's so bad about the Bahrain setup? I think Haig looked excellent, very aero.

Today UAE riders did very well, I think that this year Pogacar will have a stronger team than Jonas, especially if you consider that UAE will have Adam Yates as a second GC contender and Roglic probably won't come to the Tour.
Nevertheless that's all the better for Jonas, because if he wins again people will do away with the leitmotiv of "he won in 2022 only thanks to a better team"💪🏼

The 'Bahrain setup' came 4th, it's not really an excuse unless you expect Fred Wright to be winning TTs

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but even though EF has a fast TT setup Carapaz looks slow on it. It's just not set up right for him. The Tempor helmet is fastest when you tuck you head and shrug the shoulders, but Carapaz just looked like he couldn't hold the right position. Maybe they have him set up too aggressive and he can't hold the position over a long TT?

I was actually thinking of Lanterne Rouge when Mikkel Bjerg looked to take the win. You and Benji have often talked about Bjerg in recent years, although he never made it to the podiums - before stage 4 at Dauphiné in 2023.

the draft off the team car and rider in the last few hundred meters was critical, he gained like 20 seconds on Jonas in that section

The day when you are surprised that a 58 kg mountain specialist “only” takes 2nd place on a relatively flat and long TT behind a TT specialist is the day you know the other GC riders in the grand tours have a problem.

It was an uphill false flat for the last few kilometres but it gradually ramped up at the end. The coverage showed some live speeds of riders in the 25-28km/h range, so it must have been a bit steepish near the end.

Jonas had a noticeably worse position than other riders. Set up too long and too low - looked uncomfortable and was moving his head a lot. Hands weren’t hiding his face like others. Probably some free speed to be had there.

I didn’t noticed Mikkel since Stage 17 or 19 of the TdF. Since then he is my absolute Hero. He is a climbing Monster and he really can push and go to the limit and above it. Crazy guy. I was super happy to see him winning.
