Fun Fact: When Brian Cox was playing Hannibal Lecktor in Manhunter, Anthony Hopkins was performing as King Lear on stage. When Anthony Hopkins was playing Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs, Brian Cox was performing as King Lear on stage.
ОтветитьOne of the most stylish 80's movies made during that decade ..a real treat to watch!
ОтветитьHe’s so natural as Lector, I love it
ОтветитьThis Hannibal has more emotions than hopkins' hannibal
ОтветитьNaaah this is barely a scratch on the surface of what Hannibal is, Hopkins does the best overall portrayal, but Mads Mikkelsen is by far the best in depth characterisation of Hannibal in my opinion.
ОтветитьSo what you're telling me is once Dr Letcter escapes from prison he hides his identity by joining the Vermont State Police and hiding his true intellect by portraying a bumbling police captain. Bravo, Dr. Lecter
ОтветитьAh Old Spice 😂
ОтветитьI love Manhunter
ОтветитьBrian Cox did a brilliant job and has never gotten full enough praise for his work. Some people "Mandela Effect" that Jeremy Irons played Lecktor in this movie.
ОтветитьIt's why Trump won. The hardcore left is insane.
ОтветитьThat's not how you spell *Lecter
ОтветитьThe way he uses the gum wrapper to non-chalantly tweak the phone to get the operator and tell her that he has no use of his arms and then asks the main switchboard for Dr. Blume's receptionist's name before telling the nighttime secretary to flip through the rolodex to acquire Graham's home address while he chews the gum without a second thought. So casual, so insane.
I don't know, the all-white cell makes the scene much more scary to me. Brian Cox easily gives Anthony Hopkins a run for his money.
Cornfield University
ОтветитьHonestly with how cold and sly Hopkins and Mads' Hannibals are, Brian Cox's take is quite refreshing.
The vibe I'm getting is a school teacher with an eager, ready-to-leap beast hiding beneath the seemingly normal exterior, it's a hard to explain clash between familiarity and fight-or-flee response because you can tell something's NOT right with him despite again, feeling like a teacher who's trying to engage and keep your attention to him.
Hopkins and Mads are great but they're more obviously devilish and theatrical. It doesn't make them inferior, I'm just saying.
I love this movie but i think i figured out why these scenes dont hit as hard as hopkins. Its the score, the bubbly early 80’s syn thats everywhere back then. Possibly no music wouldve done it justice. So we can feel the cold of the room and pressure between those cinder block walls.
ОтветитьLaughably bad
ОтветитьHopkins is so much better. Few words and more menace.
ОтветитьThis clip was altered.I remember in the theater Hannibal commenting "So many experts on government grants, and you say you're a layman... But it was you who caught me, wasn't it Will?"
ОтветитьBrian Cox is only 40 years old here. The guy looks much older.
ОтветитьHopkin's holds more power than this lector, his Will is more tense & afraid....
ОтветитьJuxtaposition the moody, low light, dungeonesque quality of the big budget production to this brightly lit, antiseptic and thus realistic portrayal of a psych ward.
ОтветитьO my god! I am here after Hannibal (the show)
The voice, the brogue, the intonation of Hugh Dancy is so similar to William Petersen in this movie.
I don’t know (or at leat I’ve never heard of this) if Hugh was inspired by this movie, but it’s amazing.
I really got chills😂
Now he does voiceovers in McDonald’s commercials.
ОтветитьIt really grinds my gears that we didn't get Brian Cox back for Silence of the Lambs
ОтветитьKnallkopf.
ОтветитьHuhu
ОтветитьDie Lämmer schweigen.
ОтветитьSo Logan Roy was a nutcase...
ОтветитьTIL There was a Red Dragon before Red Dragon
ОтветитьSaw this movie in the theater with my father when I was just a young boy. I was too young to appreciate how good this movie is, but I fully understand it now after watching it as an adult.
ОтветитьThis was my favorite version of the book.
Ответитьlogan was born like this
Ответитьsmell yourself! By implication, Lecter accuses him of his own sociopathy.
ОтветитьClassic film class acting
Ответитьyou had disadvantages
ОтветитьI'll tell ya one thing, this really makes ya appreciate Ed Norton.
Ответить"God's a champ...it's because we're the same...pre tell...I know we're not the same...because you're insane....goodbye Dr. Lecter."
ОтветитьWilliam Petersen plays a cop on the edge so well. To live and die in LA says it all. But the differences between will graham and Richard Chance is that Will is retired from the FBI after getting attacked by Hannibal Lector and has wife and son and a lot to live for whereas Richard Chance is one of those thrill seekers in addition to being a secret service agent. He’s got no wife and kids only a ex-convict girlfriend who snitches for him on criminals. Both men are called into action to catch a criminal that they’re after, e.g., the tooth fairy and Rick masters. Difference is Chance dies trying to kill the man who killed his partner and doesn’t kill him but his new partner does whereas Will Graham survived and goes home to his family after killing the killer who wounds him in the face.
ОтветитьThis Will Graham is something.
ОтветитьI read director Mann intentionally minimized Lektor’s screen time in order to keep the audience wanting more.
ОтветитьRed Dragon before Red Dragon.
ОтветитьWhy does the background music makes this slightly funny?
ОтветитьHey it’s Grissom!
ОтветитьI love Brian Cox but nobody can best Hopkins.
ОтветитьOkay, who is the dimwitted clown who added that ridiculous music to a clip that had none? What a maroon.
ОтветитьKudos
ОтветитьThis is so awful. The music. How they sound like they’re reading their lines.
ОтветитьMost underrated movie
ОтветитьThis "is" Lector
ОтветитьThe white prison cell with the light on, the sleep deprived and malnourished Lecter, feels more like an actual prison than the assylum Hopkins was in.
