I had the privilege to meet Gen Omar Bradley by chance in an elevator in 1979. The Airmen I was with told him he looked nothing like Carl Malden. He laughed so hard I thought he was going to fall out of his wheelchair.

Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt III President Roosevelt son was 56 years old. And he was the only General to lead the charge from a boat on D day. General Roosevelt was the first one off his boat and lead the charge all the way to Berlin. Unfortually General Roosevelt died of a heart attack while in Paris France. General Roosevelt was in bad health.

My grandmother worked for the Canadian Government in veterans affairs at the time during WWII and used to see Omar Bradley a lot up where she was born in Ontario, Canada.. He did much of the planning of the Normandy invasion on an island on lake Nippissing along with a few other officers not far from where my grandmothers family had their island.
