Science started to break the moment "scientists" used it to make/earn money. Money has corrupted science the same way corrupts everything. When science was done by few lucky, rich people (yes in the past only rich people could do science since they were not busy surviving) the only purpose of it was reaching real knowledge and understanding of the world. By definition, since it became a business, it cannot go back to the way it was. We can only hope that from all the "noise" produced, something sound and profound will come out.

99 percent of scientists give the rest a bad name . . . 42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot . . . All those who believe in psycho kinesis raise my hand . . .

Just 15,000 years ago (where I live), we had mile-high ice sitting on top of us. Now, it's gone. So what happened? Too many caveman barbecues? And why does anyone think that climate-change process has stopped?

You “lost trust in scientists.” Ah WHEN did scientists EARN your trust. Where’s the proof in that. Truth is you gave your trust away for free they didn’t have to prove they were trustworthy. You can’t lose what they didn’t prove. I’ve never trusted anyone therefore I have nothing to lose.

The climate is changing, but don't know how we are responsible for the level of it. No real viable data. How we can compare results from satellites to data collected from ice for example

they even control search results. I tried looking up a climate change debunking video on YT and it brought me here a video that is basically telling me I'm anti-science for not agreeing with climate change. Which is nothing more than liberal/lefty religion.

China and India do not have to obey polution regulations and they can strip mine lithium and build nukes. We have to be dependant on them for luthium and solar pannels. Meanwhile we cannot build nukes or coal plants like china and india and cannot strip mine lithium in Oregon or Florida. Unlike China we do not use Muslims as slaves so their labor is cheap. If we keep being this stupid China will just buy us and we will not have to worry about climate change because Xi will tell us whether or not it exists.
But at least Elon and Trump will let you talk.

How does anyone believe or trust anything or anyone? Is there one single thing that can be proven as absolute? All things are knowable while also being unknowable, simultaneously. If one thinks there are absolutes, then a 5 minute conversation with a philosopher will have one guessing whether you even exist, much less if there are absolutes. The only thing that is absolute is that there are no absolutes…wait, umm…idk.

many scientists are either not sceptic enough or work for the people who want to push climate change agenda. That is why they advocate for climate change. So they cannot be trusted. climate change is both a hoax/conspiracy and a fact.

you could be expressing your distrust in scientists and scientific community in order for appearing more trusting yourself. So you can push climate change agenda further on us. This could all be an act from your part. You could also be working for this climate change agenda. I tend to see worst in people, this is how I remain sceptic.

Dear Sabine, I enjoy watching your videos. I am a practicing chemist, but also publish a bit in the condensed matter physics community, so I don't mind all the digs at physicists ;-). Sorry if I have missed a video done by you on this, but what are your thoughts on the h-index? Is it a useful metric, or yet again another metric that has been gamed in order to hype some science over others? People in academia are obsessed with this number, and sometimes I find it very demoralizing since it sometimes precludes pursuing pure scientific query. It makes it seem more like a business than the profession I once thought it was.

In all fields of human endeavour, there are some people who prove to be more trustworthy than some (sometimes many) of their peers. Scientists are human; science is a human undertaking. One can go too far in the direction being a "true believer," and one can go too far in the direction of scepticism.

Being a scientist is like being a religious authority. They claim that reality is exactly as they see it and want you to go along with it, because they have to convince "sponsor" to fund their research and claims. Most scientist (like Sabine) still are open to being proven wrong and they actually congratulate the scientist that corrected them. Now, because of corporate truth deniers that want to push "false" claims we have to be more careful with which "claim" to believe in. Sorry, but science has become "faith based". What to believe in? Who's corrupted?

science and math is like some guy with ocd who can't cross the road not without measuring every crack and crevis, carefulky calculating the asphalt and cincrete concentration so he can prove that hes looking at a road.

spirituality is like a guy who sees the cracked road and is like "yup, that's a road" and crosses it.

It's not that I distrust science or scientists—science itself is a force for immense good. However, many individuals remain unduly deferential to scientific 'dogma' and propaganda, mistaking authority for infallibility. Driven by a fear of their own perceived inferiority, they forgo critical analysis, unquestioningly accepting the words of those in white coats whose plausible 'bedside ' manner belies the need for scrutiny. (No offence, Prof. Brian Cox.) 😉
