It astonishes me how many women try to tell me how to raise my twin 7 year old boys into becoming men. They tell me that feelings are paramount, that they will always be the most important thing....bullshit. Feelings are important, depending on the situation. It's completely lost on them that there are some situations where, as a man, you have to put your feelings to the side and focus on the goal at hand. Apparently it's considered a bad thing if my boys are afraid of making me mad about something they know is wrong. Guess what? That's perfectly normal. We should be afraid of our parents...not afraid of getting hurt, but afraid of disappointing them.

As a child, your responsibility lies in two parts: 1) doing as your told when you are told and 2) having fun. Period. I'm not going to sit there and have a debate with a seven year old about why it's so important to show appreciation for the food you are given. You do it because you are told to. As you get older, assuming you show maturity and the capacity to be responsible, then you can make your own decisions and raise concerns about what you are asked. Today is not that day, boy.

It's unbelievable how women expect us to act like men, yet they want us to raise our boys like women. I guarantee you when they are old enough, those boys are going to be expected to tow the line like a normal man does. What happens then? What happens when they falter when they get bitch slapped by life as the realization comes that LIFE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS. You will get yelled at. Not everyone is going to like you. You will not always get your way. Your worth as a human being is solely determined on your ability to provide and protect. Only women, children and dogs are loved unconditionally...that's just life. If you do not meet the criteria, those same people who encouraged you to express your emotions first and foremost will be the first to shun you. If you don't learn these things as a child, you are in for a world of hurt when you are on your own as an adult.
