Sup from Albany! Glad you came to shred! The Blue Banks were originally a set of three tennis courts separated by fences. Over the years skaters worked to DIY it into a skate park because the blue banks were just calling to us. The skaters tore down fences, pulled out pipes, removed concrete. It was a battle for years with the city who would break any permanent builds leaving the rubble spread out over the ground making it harder to skate. At one point there were wooden features built by a local pro named Dylan. Those brought the numbers which brought the attention which lead to funding the skate park you were able to enjoy and warm up on today! Truly a weird skate park and the history of it is wild with some crazy tricks. Best trick I've seen is someone Hardfliped that entire big bank in a go skate day competition. It was floaty af and the pop echoed across a silent crowd. when he landed bolts the entire crowd lost there fucking minds. Come Back and skate again soon!
