"Oj, rydzu mój !" – A song To The Mushroom, another piece recorded by Marya Tokarska on this channel – A Subrette, as she is denoted on the 1910 Arena Recored labels. And another show of her repertoire which comprised mainly funny songs based on traditional music with lyrics of the bawdy and risque content, many a time with a strong sexual undertext. Supposedly to amuse the audience of the time and places where she was performing (beginning of XX century).

A girl found a mushroom in the wood - of a peculiar shape and size which amazed her, as the taste of the finding also did. With every stanza sung, the listener is more and more sure that the mushroom actually is a disguise of the male sexual organ, as in the end of the story the woman is getting pregnant and bears a baby. -
