The "boy" who learned to run, and bypass the boat, became a god entity trying to enslave humanity into a permanent loop of emotionless entities with no where to progress because they reached fidelity (the white robots), with complete silence of the world.
And Jayce reminded him that his struggles as a boy, not being able to run, was the fidelity that he just couldnt understand. The constant search for improvement, is better than reaching perfection.

Now more than likely they're going to pop back up again looking a little different. Viktor especially. I was wondering how they were going to do the mounted claw laser but goddamn that was a nice touch they did.

It is very telling of our society that we can no longer look at a story like this and simply accept that they were close friends, partners, brothers. Nothing romantic.

Jayce has gotten hate but he's always been my favorite character, along with Mel and after episode 7, Ekko. He's made a lot of mistakes and in the end he and Viktor sacrifice themselves to make up for all of them, to save everyone else
