To me it sounds like a Beatles song from the Sergeant Pepper era.

Now there's a link between Waterloo Road and The Champs-Elysees. Love this original.
Found this via the Olympics singalongs of 'Les Champs-Elysees'. It's rather lovely too. What a great wee tune.
NOFX brought me here
Beatlesesque
My world just turned upside down lol.
Seems a lot of old French songs are covers. Never realized this was originally sung in English. I still prefer the French version though. This group sounds a bit dead in water. Joe Dassin really brings this song to life with his version.
Dommage, on ne peut partager.............
Amaizing
And many years later this tune became: "Killer Queen*.
Surprised it wasnt a hit
Aux champs élysées 🎶
Ps my Mum was at school with Mike in Lancaster that's how far the connection goes back lol ❤
He is very well 80 last year still playing away ..saw him in July playing with the Temps but in touch with them

No way...Aux Champ Elyseés is a version....
It is "Killer queen"
Wait... Killer Queen?...
I've just learnt that basically everywhere in Europe has a version of this bloody thing. There's the French version obviously, but Dutch and Slovenian versions were also revorded, and apparently a German one exists as well.
Ответитьfrench version is "les champs elysees' by joe dassin
It's so weird to hear the song in English though
"Lets go get a drink and smoke a cigarette"
I had thought this song inspired Paul McCartney and made him write PENNY LANE (Beatles 1967).
But Waterloo Road was released in1968.
Vice versa, possibly?
Waterloo Road - Jason Crest
Lyrics
Walking down the streets of day
I saw a girl across the way
I asked her where she's goin' and
She said "come with me"
She took me down this avenue
Where I met the folks she knew
There we stopped and chatted as
We passed the time away
Down waterloo road
Down waterloo road
Friday night, Saturday
Any night, any day
You'll find what you're looking for
Down waterloo road
Goin' down the cellar where
We met this happy fella
Playin' cakewalks on his guitar
All night long
His picking sound is scratchy but
His music was so catchy
That we all got up and joined him as
We sang this song:
Down waterloo road
Down waterloo road
Friday night, Saturday
Any night, any day
You'll find what you're looking for
Down waterloo road
Now the birds are cheepin' and
We all fell kinda sleepy
The mornin' tide is risin' and
The moon has gone
But still the feeling lingers
And still I hear the singers
As I walk along the avenue
And I sing this song
Down waterloo road
Down waterloo road
Friday night, Saturday
Any night, any day
You'll find what you're looking for
Down waterloo road
does this mean the japanese version of champs elysees should also be it's own thing
The brotherhood of Evils french version is the best version
