THIRD, re-group the GOVERNMENT BUILDING INSPECTORS AND HIRE EXTRA INSPECTORS TO ENSURE EVERY "NEW" REPLACEMENT BUILDING IS PROPERLY INSPECTED TO THE BUILDING CODES ......with the very clear warning that any building that might fail in the future, due to an earthquake, will result in both BUILDING INSPECTORS AND CONTRACTORS GOING TO JAIL FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

We had a 6.9 one here months ago here in Taiwan if I remembered correctly (sorry for my bad memory but we just have too many of them, so if nothing big happened I simply just clear my head) Railway torted and bridges collapsed and a 7-11 fell down I remembered, but miraculously not many were killed for all those collapsing.... I heard there was one dead in the factory because he was fixing the machine when the quake hit, and the machine fell on him. I guess the experience of a disastrous earthquake in 1999 taught us bloody lessons than you better take earthquake resistance of buildings seriously when you live on an island frequented by quakes, but I'm not sure how long the lessons could be kept.....our buildings are getting older over years and there are still plenty of them need to be reconstructed by refused to, I really doubt they could hold on in a scenario similar to which happened in Turkey today....
