Can someone explain the 5 channels going back into PT thing? I’ve only EVER worked in the box so I’m not sure I understand...

How is the digital signal from the laptop being funneled through those channels then back into it, and for what benefit? Furthermore, is there a way to emulate that “in the box”?

I know about the SSL 4K, I have the native emulation plugin but that’s just for glue comp...
I imagine something like the Waves NLS Buss can emulate the analog distortion of the summing?...
