Jinhao 82 Fountain Pen - My First Impressions

The 82 is my every day writer. Love this pen.

I have a load of these little pens which I interchange all the time and get a new color pen. My fav combination is light green with the tea color pen. I put Diamine Sleigh Ride in that pen last year and it's been such a winner, I haven't put the ink in any other pen! Here's a couple of things I found out about the Jinhao 82 (Other than you can change up parts) since I've had them:
My fav nib is the medium. It show sheen and shading. Some nibs require a bit of smoothing but not a huge amount.
The pen does not handle dry inks very well. I'd say if the ink is on the wet side, there's no problem at all but for inks that are even a bit dry, they don't flow well in these pens. I use a bit of Doug's home made additive to make the ink flow better (Inkquiring Minds)

I don't have an 82. This transparent model may be the one to get. Now, for the nib. The Medium looks nice but worried about the wetness of the nib and feed.

I have several - and nearly all of them have needed a bit of nib adjustment.

I have a kind of love/hate relationship with this pen. I love how well it writes but feel so so about its smallness. So, I rarely reach for it.

These are $10 in the US, but still a bargain. I just have to decide which color(s) I want.

I have about 10 of them, every one of them is a gem!
