So I saw some people had an issues when they do button borderless some button disappear or turn white. To fix this go into res/values/themes/themes.xml. Go into the normal one not night. You see beside the code, colors with square just change the white one to black or whichever color you want. If you don't see this, click on the <item name="colorOnPrimary">@color/white</item>. Change white to black. I fthis does not help my directories may be different. Also credit to another comment for helping out. This is a more detailed explanation
