No, The Batman doesn't work with the new DCU Superman at all. The DCU needs its own Batman. The world Matt Reeves has created and the world James Gunn is creating are far too different.

No. Reeves' vision for his Batman and Epic Crime Saga doesn't fit into Gunn's vision for the DCU, not without completely compromising both, and Reeves and Gunn would be the first to agree.

First off. Reeves' Batman exists in a world where superpowers, super-powered characters, and super sci-fi tech do not exist. He's made this very clear. Secondly, Reeves' Batman is at an entirely different point in the timeline of his career than the DCU Batman who will have a son and entire Bat Family. Pattinson's Batman would make no sense in the DCU.

I don't understand why they don't just have Matt Reeves Batman be a prequel to current day Gunn DCU Batman. They already have a bare minimum 15 year difference since we know Damian will be in the movie soo...

Pattinson is too good not to be the DCU Batman. And another realistic Batman after the last 5? Plus Gunn asked reeves if he could have Pattinson be the DCU Batman. And reeves said no. Why should Matt reeves be indulged to make his own dc cinematic universe including Batman and villain spin offs. Plus, Pattinson is 38. His Batman is supposed to be 28. It will be years by the time brave and the bold actually gets made so you could do a time jump to make the robins fit. Or we could actually have Batman and Superman be peers for once in film. Enough of dc being disjointed. If you don’t look at anything Matt reeves had said, and just watch the Batman, there’s nothing in that movie that precludes it from being part of a larger universe. Plus Pattinson has said he wanted to do more supernatural stuff with Batman, and has also said he’s a fan of gunn’s guardians films. And has alluded that he wouldn’t be against a larger universe. Sometimes creatives need restraints. And Matt reeves can make two more Batman movies and then new talent behind the camera can work on Batman whether it’s world’s finest or justice league. Or brave and the bold.

I don’t see why two stylized versions of the characters can’t share the screen. Isn’t that the entire point of teamups? Like they’re drastically different characters, why can’t edgy batman hang out with paragon of heroism superman? wouldn’t that be interesting writing to pair exact opposites together? isn’t that what made avengers exciting back in 2012? like before they were all quip ai machines? isn’t that why the DCEU stunk? they were all just muscle people that said one liners and cgi’d on each other

so little imagination. The batman could totally fit with James gunns superman, the contrast would make it interesting and you can level up Batmans weird retro technology.

What's sad is that there are great stories within comic books, and Hollywood writers/directors always tries to make it detract from the comics. They can make it either a huge success like reeves has done (being faithful to the comics), or flop bigtime like suicide squad. Hollywood just has to stick to the formula with these characters from the comics and not try to reinvent the wheel with these characters!

It does not work at all. You can’t take a grounded Batman and put him in a fantastical universe. They tried to get Christian Bale for the DCEU. That would’ve felt so weird going from The Dark Knight Rises and this grounded universe to fighting Superman and Darkseid.

I think Battinson should be in the DCU they might as well, Daredevil/ Punisher is grounded and that’s in the MCU and it works pretty well IMO idk why Matt Reeves can’t be incorporated into it

How about we just have super man movies.... On their own.... Batman movies on their own..... And maybe... If after 2 or 3 films make a single original movie story which would incorporate all elements from the characters..... Nahhhhhh just jam it all in together and watch it fail.

In my opinion it can't work , reeves and pattinson version of batman is nothing like prime batman from comics, it's clearly felt like an elseworld take on batman, also reeves has stated multiple times that his verse has no superpowered elements at all his universe bleeds realism just look at penguin lol, also i personally doesn't really like pattinson's batman i liked it initially but it didn't age well with me too depressing and gloomy with a wierd batsuit and a horrible batmobile which is nothing like batman in my opinion i am not saying it's objectively bad but it's just not for me personally, i am waiting for james to give me a proper DCU Batman with batfamily in a fantastical setting.

i think rob would fit great, we dont need a silly comic book batman (ben affleck) it already failed. I think the realism would work real well with all the fantastic elements around him.

if anything they can just pattinson be batman in both universes. the batman would still be separate and you dont have to worry about continuity. it doesnt seem like a crazy idea that guy would look the same in two different universes but have different stories. people want some or all 3 of these things: the batman universe to continue, pattinson batman to interact with corenswet superman and pattinson himself to be batman in general. keep them 2 universes and cast pattinson as dcu batman

I just don't see it given Superman seems to be taking place in a very established superhero world. Where people like Mr Terrific and the hawks are openly about, and different Lanterns running around. It just doesn't fit in with the established universe of The Batman

He could, he's supposed to have changed after the end of The Batman and by then end of 2 i can see him being a good World's Finest type of detective who acts as grounding for a morally noble Superman. Plus id like to see a Batman who proves his worth because he's alongside a Joker who would break Superman's spirit like he has in the past. Always love a Joker who thinks Superman is too easy to beat because he wants to get a rise out of the hero, even if it kills him.

From the BTS looks of Gunn's metropolis,he's going for the retro futuristic n civilians clothing ala superman the animated series n DC the new frontier (which the trunks fits brilliantly!).Unless Reeves does some retooling with the batman universe mainly Gotham..looking like art deco style like Bruce timm animated series or noir futuristic like the Arkham city game with zeppelin flying overhead. Then I can see a match-up of Cornswet n Pattinson(in trunks too) when scenes switch from metro to Gotham n back again during the movie..But the way as is of Reeve's batman now..hard no. Bring on the new Gunn's DCU Batman in trunks!

If Reeves' trilogy ended by 2026 or 2027 we could've just insert Battinson into the DCU from there. Gotham is grounded doesn't mean there can't be aliens outside. He can switch between both missions. Animated Batman worked this way

Like Bruce says to Hal Jordan — “you deal with the bug-eyed monster, i’ll handle the street-level crime.” I think we should eat what’s (going to be) on our plates here, first. The new Superman movie has to be a hit. I’m talking Superman: The Movie-level hit. Not a copy of S:TM like Superman Returns did, and not a grounded, muted color-mess that Man of Steel was. He needs to rescue a cat from a tree, he needs to share a laugh with people, he needs to punch people into next week, and he needs to figure out his enemies’ plans — he needs to be “a friend.” Along the lines of A Superman For All Seasons.
