I'm not gonna lie.
I was expecting this to go in a whole other direction.
I am glad to be wrong.👍💙
Tommy is the guy
ОтветитьHell, Morgan Freeman dislikes Black History Month.
ОтветитьTommy REALLY cleaned up his language with this one.
Respect.
🙋🏾♂️ Sotonation!
ОтветитьDamn I missed it catching the replay
ОтветитьAs a 52 yr old light skinned black man. I am not saying that her specific story about the pool being drained was true, but that it was a “thing” in the 70’s / 80’s I can personally confirm.
While “softer” than pre-civil rights I had a couple instances (not a lot, literally two) of whites not being happy that I was swimming in whatever community pool. It was a known thing for blacks to as best we could make sure the whites weren’t going to raise a super fuss over it.
Between the “He/They may have a disease” or the, “I don’t want him seeing my (white) daughter in a bathing suit” sadly those old stereotypes were still around - especially in suburban/rural areas.
If it’s any positive, my white friends of my age thought and would even tell their parents to “Get out of the 50’s” since the parents of the 70’s/80’s were from the late 40’s to the 70’s. So while it doesn’t make it right, it was understood that a good number of white folk from pre-civil rights were a different type.
Again, I’m not saying her story was accurate, but that it was still occurring until the mid-80’s I can confirm.
I was less than a minute in before I had to leave from being triggered.
ОтветитьTommy will always be the architect of black cultural critique.
ОтветитьThat dude is a🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝🦝
ОтветитьIt's amazing his parents had the foresight to name him "Tom".
ОтветитьThis let me know you have no ideal about racism towards black people. I blame your dad for not teaching reality
ОтветитьMaybe in the sixties. Possibly in the fifties. Definitely in the forties. As for the eighties that’s bs.
ОтветитьWe remember you. 😢 Hope you're well.
ОтветитьI wonder why you don’t see racism?🙄
ОтветитьYour point about the cost of refilling and treating the water just for one black woman makes sense. Imagine if your the manager and you got to tell the owner yeah I just spent a few thousand dollars of your money because one black woman took a swim in the pool. Big risk to get fired that day.
ОтветитьWhat's funny is that today the wide array of hair products guarantees a ring around ANY pool. This sounds more like an urban legend, but it's just credible enough to enrage the right people; who live in the distant past, today.
ОтветитьI don’t rock with her… I feel she will do anything for money and attention… I fully believe her story about Bill Cosby was 1000% a flat out lie… just another opportunist… her story about not naming the hotel for fear of being sued is garbage… name the last time anyone was sued for accusing a business of being racist… she knows good and well that in the 80s any hotel would be glad to have a legit super model swim in their pool regardless of race
ОтветитьI heard that pool story happened to Dorothy Dandridge.
I don't believe it happened to Beverly Johnson.
