Long time ago we had a huge loader, caterpillar 990 on one jobsite, it's job was done and there was work for it on the adjacent jobsite but a neighborhood in between.

Since it was a relatively short distance and there was a route with large enough roads, we got an escort of about 7 staties, me and another worker had to stand on either side of the cab and push traffic lights and low hanging cables up out of the way.

There were other times when they had a small fleet of scrapers and pull tractors done on one site and another site 20+ miles of straight back country highway away. They can reach about 30-35 mph in the right conditions so they just ran convoys with 2 staties.
