So they're going to go pick up a stranded Goa`uld.
Ответитьany chance there is very little rockets because all the companies have a summer down time?
ОтветитьHello Scott. I have a thought you might want to consider passing up to the big guy. I am concerned about Space X testing, or the lack there of, to catch a booster on IFT 5. I think that the chopsticks finding a booster mounted in the launch pad is somewhat simplistic especially when repeated. I wonder if a simulated drop test, while lowered from a crane, would be more challenging for a catch simulation? To date, they have not tested any kind of a catch. They have only performed slap tests. The point I'm trying to make, is that by lowering a booster in the same manner a hovering booster might approach from, the chopsticks would be tasked to find and catch the booster. They haven't done any tests to show they can catch an approaching booster. If I was the FAA, I would insist on more data other than a slap test and the one hovering water landing they have had.
ОтветитьDid think that your accent is more Caledonian than Californian
Welcome home
Hi Scott, When ever I see any of the Boca Chica SpaceX videos where they are moving any of the boosters, or ships around, or show the buildings or the multi wheel transport vehicles, or the chopsticks, I get a real sense that I am looking at a Thunderbirds scene, where everything is mega scaled and the people look disproportionately small. The giant things moving around like they are in a dance really does reinforce that feeling. Are we really looking at a kind of Thunderbirds version of SpaceX in reality? Do you get that sensation too?
ОтветитьGot a question. Hope I can explain well enough that it's understandable.
Why can't they use the 'chopstix' to give the starship a little 'boost' ? Totally made up numbers next. If the ship goes from 0 to 10 mph in the first 50 meters, maybe the chopsticks could get it to 20 mph and save several hundred pounds of fuel.
Sorry I didn't have time to convert velocity into the universal 'Furlongs Per Fortnight' for those not born in the US. 😉
Nicely done.
ОтветитьOne good thing about Boeing, the make SpaceX look good.
ОтветитьDo you know if there will be an August 11th Space X launch from Florida? I'm finding conflicting info. Thanks
ОтветитьI was delighted to hear Scott’s voice in the Wild Wild Space documentary, if only for a short moment.
ОтветитьWelcome home
ОтветитьThis man is giggling with glee from all the launches
ОтветитьQuestions: how much residual fuel was left in Super heavy booster and also Starship spaceship on launch 4?
Ответить" Yeah, well, I hope that works..." Fargin' hilarious. Love your sense of your humour. I mean who else has dissed Bezo's so effectively. Arrogant fucks deserve to be dissed at every opportunity!
ОтветитьWhere in Scotland are/were you ?
Ответитьhow kind of elon musk to give you vacations lol
Ответить667
ОтветитьWhy why why do people keep making giant rockets that ignite at zero speed? They need to have the rocket ship already in motion, that would reduce the weight, need for fuel, etc.
ОтветитьYou forgot about Rocket Lab's launch. They launched just before SpaceX returned to flight
Ответить"Planes are always gonna be cooler than rockets." False
ОтветитьAhhh Space X , reinventing the wheel into a hexagon. All at tax payer money . To help a private corporation . This never ends well for Tax Payers .
Ответитьnew glenn is going to fail. I hope i'm wrong
Ответитьless of you more of your content
ОтветитьIf your back in Scotland then its 2nd of August lol.
ОтветитьEating lead paint chips. Whaaaaat? Huh, I wonder why that company hasn't had much success?
ОтветитьI thought Crew Dragon can hold 7... send crew 9 up with a couple of Xtra seats
ОтветитьThe US government should suspend all contracts with SpaceX until the allegations against Musk for election interference are invalidated!
ОтветитьSLS is a complete waste of billions of tax dollars. NASA has no business designing rockets anymore
ОтветитьIt's sad that Scott still trusts Musk
ОтветитьWelcome home! 🏴
ОтветитьBoeing should pay spacex to send a crew dragon up there to save them. Epic fail lol
ОтветитьGood god that orange smoke
ОтветитьA three-hour tour...
Ответить"Planes are always gonna be cooler than rockets"
- Scott Manley
Can we see you in a kilt. wear a space kilt scott.
ОтветитьBrilliant. Welcome home.
ОтветитьManly Scott Manley in Scottish studio of Scotland
ОтветитьCheck around for any sign of Brigadoon. By now you might check under a freeway underpass in suburban Edinburgh . . .
ОтветитьThat slow-mo Starship test fire footage is beautiful.
ОтветитьDrop a food wrapping on the footpath and get arrested for littering , but it's ok to dump space ship parts in the ocean and forget about them.... Weird world 🤔
ОтветитьGreat vid as always, hope you can enjoy the Scottish summer. Is there no capability for SLS main engines to be recovered and re-used? Seems a waste of such proven, expensive and irreplaceable bits of equipment!
ОтветитьSpaceX will just strap a whole Falcon 9 onto Superheavy booster to get the Deorbitvehicle up there.
Funny thing is... Starship is more like Falcon Heavy weightwise...
Take some time off, Scott. Run wild.
ОтветитьStarliner.. How embarrassing! 😳 How long until it's axed?🪓
ОтветитьWhy does starliner still have its contract? I mean, does contract law allow for this many chronic setbacks? Or does space+Boeing unlock somekind of special leeway?
ОтветитьThat is what being a pilot perk, fly up northern Scotland, airplanes are "way cooler!"
Ответить
