a nice water tight door is in order the entrance is needed i think

That water that you are pumping out is just going to return to the water table that is flooding your project.

So I guess you could permanently wire up that pump and also permanently install pipework in the ground to remove all future risk of flooding?

You need to pump it into the storm Water drain. Of not it will only return back into the ground d water
