Longines Master moonphase was about £2500 at the time of this video and has arguably plenty heritage of its own and is just as well constructed. Entry to this club is cheaper than you'd think. Albeit there isn't a huge amount below this if you also want a name with your complications.

as much as i would love getting a lang i can't see myself spending that much even tho it's only a couple of weeks worth of profit but ya never know

watching watch videos i have realized the fact that while an automatic watch is really nice to look at and even nicer with an exhibition back, they are parasites sapping the energy from you they need to live. while a quartz watch is not parasitic at all ecodrive or battery operated, you can wear them and get just as many comments as you do with an aautomatic, the big difference is this, you take off an automatic it dies you take off a quartz and it goes on throw it in a drawer for 6 months and when you find it again it has the right date and time, an automatic has to be wound and set, i have had both and prefer quartz

Day and date is just handy because we all forget what day it is from time to time. The chronograph is easier to live without, but nice to have. Everything else is almost fluff.
But it's actually difficult to find a watch with only what you want and nothing else.

All these companies work on roughly the same profit margin. So a super expensive watch is still very expensive to make. It's not like it is a cheap piece of rubbish that they are selling for a fortune.
