i think it's not unreasonable for a company to define what equipment can and cannot be used in relation to work done for that company or on company property. Apple products are very likely used for USA surveillance and data gathering purposes ala NSA/PRISM. But .. is firing an appropriate consequence for breaking a company rule? If it occurs, i guess it's for the courts in the nation to decide.

I think that you are missing something here. If pagers can be blown up remotely, I would not blame any company for becoming suspicious. Any company that takes that kind of measure will win any court battle. The reason why the company said only Huawei, is because whoever was responsible for the attack with the pagers, use software to execute the action. Other phone manufacturers in China use Android software. I think that we will see similar measures not only in Cina. Right now a lot of countries are doing their assessment, and after that, they will decide.

No, it is quite common for companies to ban specific products. That is not a human rights issue, especially in the west. For example, Huawei phones are banned in most American & Canadian companies that deal with the Federal government. Huawei phones are not even allowed to connect to their networks. Most smartphone companies do not allow competitor phone brands to be used by their employees, and woe to anyone caught using the competitor's phone. Also, owning a specific phone brand is NOT A HUMAN RIGHT. That's only an entitled person talking.
