Great video, I am planning on a toolboard project for this winter. What hardware did you use for the hanging hardware?
ОтветитьCan’t believe I hadn’t seen this video before. I especially love the wooden blocks with the multiple holding points, I’ll have to give this a go with some timber as it looks like a great way to hold a set of tools in one location. It’s also nice to have a few strong magnets on the tool board as well, they make life easier when the magnetic strength of your screw driver or other tool isn’t strong enough to hold a screw or hex bolt firmly enough.
ОтветитьNice vise
ОтветитьWith pegboard, you can prevent the tool hangers from coming off with the tools, by wrapping with a zip-tie horizontally across the hanger into adjacent pegboard holes.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьThanks for the tips as i want to organise my tools better.
One thing i didn't understand is why use the cardboard when you could just lay the plywood on a bench and lay out the tools.
Either way I'm gonna build a tool board 👍
I'm way overdue for a remodel of my workshop which is currently a disaster. Thanks for the inspiration!
ОтветитьThanks for the tips here, Jim.
I put up a peg board last summer, although it's turned out ok now having seen this I think I can get a lot more tools hanging with just the nails idea.
Cheers!
Jim!
Terrific, Jim. Very practical. Been meaning to redesign my bench. You showed the way. Gotta love that shirt.
ОтветитьI recently watched a video from Indonesia titled Will this old bike survive? With the tools employed on that low end Choicc, I began to wonder how apt the title was! My toolbox is a classic wooden doghouse ended carpenter's toolbox. A jumble of quality tools, spoke nipples, spoke keys, and bags of cassette cogs resides. When I can, I work outdoors with a disused pool ladder as my work stand. Good ideas for the tool board, but I need portability and total lack of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder would nix any effort to organize! Good news, I built 2 new wheels with Mavic of Romania rims in one day! Lacing the wheels, the spokes almost assembled themselves! There were small marks on both sides of the front hub marking the holes for the key spokes to align the logo with the valve hole 3x pattern! With the DuraAce shifters and '73 Campy derailleur, heavily modified hub, 8 speed cassette made with 10 speed spacing, the thing actually indexed! 126mm dropouts! Unfortunately the zero compression cable without a feral sent housing wires through the derailleur cable hole ending stellar performance! Oh well, a feral will put an end to that problem. 10 speed version needed more shifter cable pull to work, but not matching 10 speed index pull. The shortened freehub body resulting in exactly the width of a 6 speed freewheel made the difference and cut the spoke dish to 11mm! On Henry Wildberry's vlog he actually filed the notches on the brifter wheel making a 10 speed brighter work with 11 speed. A brave man! I loathe the complexity of brifters and hydraulics complete that sentiment! Your videos have helped my wildest retromod ideas reach fruition!
ОтветитьDid you get flood hit?

There are all kinds of ways to work neodymium magnets into tool storage systems.
Great video! But what do you use regular metric wrenches for on a modern bike? Bleed screws (8mm I think) and wheel nuts (15mm) if you have a fixed gear are the only ones I can think of!
Ответить@Jim Langley How are the socket wrenches attached to that 2x4 on the lower right of your tool wall?
