Strange World DUMPED onto Disney Plus Already?!

Not going to lie; it looks like shit. I’m not going to watch a movie that looks like Illumination’s rejected movie screening

As a gay male I must ask: Why do all the characters on Strange World look so ugly and unattractive. They seem to do this with ALL gay characters, especially males.

I'm starting to see an alarming trend.

Admited Disneyphile here. I spent four days in the parks over the past month. I think I saw one display of Strange World merch, some bits of new-school Lightyear in Toy Story displays, and maybe a Red Panda t-shirt or two. This further leads me to believe that all three of these films were intended to be D+ exclusives initially, but were released theatrically for the budgetary reasons being discussed.The synergy of co-marketing the Parks, properties, and theatrical content is broken. What Disney needs is another good princess movie that's not a sequel or "reimagined." Mirabel Madrigal from Encanto is a great charater, but she was deliberately created to not fit that princess template, and the marketing is suffering for it.

Grow Up guys. The CFO blamed the CEO for cooking the books. The CEO doesn't every touch the books, the woman who blamed Chapek for "cooking the books" is the only one in a position to cook the books. The Skill sets of CEO's and CFO's are not even remotely similar.

Chapek was a sacrificial lamb, they blame him for the Igler politicization and its negative effect on profits,, and they blame him for what the accounting department was doing to lie to the stock holders.

It is like when one gang member gets framed for a crime they didn't commit to protect a higher gang member. But instead of jail it is a mansion and instead of 20 years it is 50 million in cash and 20 million stock options.

I was okay with the concept of Turning Red, and in another time and life I would have gone to see it. But I think my distrust of Disney and everything they made had already set in by that point. I'm just sick of having to feel guarded when we go see a movie. Movies are for escapism and entertainment, not preaching.

These days I won't even show my kid a cartoon show unless it's completely finished and I can vet it for wokeness.

Yet I can get in my car and go watch Top Gun:Maverick in theaters right now.

Also the movies have sucked recently. Like Turning Red was atrocious

I went to see the movie and didn't realize the dog was disabled until I heard it here. That means I missed it or didn't care. Probably the latter.

I feel they're trying to get people to watch it and avoiding the hard truth.

I saw several commercials for Strange World leading up to its release. It just didn't seem interesting enough to catch it in theaters. Especially knowing it will be on Disney + eventually..I just didn't think it would happen this fast.

Speaking of Wakanda Forever I was cruising through the clearance section at Walmart and tons of W.F. merchandise yellow tagged.
That was fast!

Anyone else think that besides the crappy story and virtue signaling the animation wasn't good? The 2 men lead characters look terrible- huge snowball noses, super thin nose bridge and close set beady eyes? Also hands and arms that are so huge, it looks really bad. The other characters don't look as bad, but it's really crappy art

This dumping to D+ is hurting them, why go to the cinema to see something when you can wait a month at watch it at home for free. I think prior to his removal this was Chapek's plan to axe a bunch of the staff, especially the activist ones when this thing died in the cinema. I think it was a straight to D+ project but he pushed for a wide release to prove how unprofitable these sorts of projects are.

The fact THIS and Raya got theatrical releases but Luca got shoved on Plus never ceases to irritate me

Disney+ is the “clamshell boxed direct to video cheap cash in” of the 21st century.

We’re getting that close to that gag in Spaceballs when the home release of a movie can run parallel to its theatrical run.

I am glad that they finally put in Disney+! They should've done in the first place. I really wish they should put as an Disney+ Exclusive.

Looking at that picture...man, the characters are ugly as fuck. I respect creative vision, but fucking hell, this is like a mix of Aardman (which is great) and diarrhea (which is not so great).

Strange World was a disaster for Disney. They really need to go back entertaining families. Was it never meant to be a cinema release? That does make sense.

Guaranteed some boardroom in Disney Burbank is having an argument over including an LGBTQ plot line for Elsa in Frozen 3, the only thing stopping that from happening is Frozen is a Disney Sacred Cash Cow and they can’t risk anymore losses after Lightyear and Strange World

To move it to Disney+ this soon proves how crappy a movie it is. It's like releasing it to video shortly after poor performance. It won't pull in extra revenue this time.

The down-low from the people Midnight's Edge know is that Chapek is a fall guy and the book cooking came from the CFO, who is already being suspected of being Iger's replacement. Explains why Chapek was canned so suddenly and unusually.

Raya ended up being a good movie, the timing was terrible unfortunately.

The Only way Disney can SAVE it self,is to STOP the SJW,WOKE,s Trash and Go Back to GOOD STORIES.

Personally liked Turning red, I just did not realize that people associated her transformations with that of a lady during her time of the month. I just thought it was her trying to deal with turbulent emotions after reaching adolescence and dealing with an overbearing mother.

Good. Now I can ignore the Pro-Groomer film once again.

I know a number of people really liking Raya, but my wife and I were so unimpressed.

A lot of movies are failing lately because they are made by people living in such an insular bubble that they don't understand the rest of the world. While people have struggles (that are getting harder and harder in the economic climate and the major shifting world powers), comfy LA and New York types are making things they think are brilliant, but only applies to a fraction of the audience. It'd be great if they were just targeting (and budgeting) for that fraction, but they want general audiences, spend a budget that anticipates world wide positive reception, and are shocked when it fails.

If you want entertainment from Disney, read the comments on torrent sites for their films.
