Ugh! I got an unknown stain on a red cotton dress. I've tried everything to get it out, but it is still there. The dress is a bright red. Can I redye it with Rit red dye? Will that hide the stain?

it’s really interesting that the 100% polyester changes colour because the things i’ve read say it doesn’t! i’m looking to dye an 100% polyester dress but only want there to be a slight change in colour, would you recommend the all purpose dye for that since the colour change is minimal?
