Worked like a charm, what a stupid oversight from HP...They cheaped out on this tiny 5c plastic gear, and because of it the whole cutting mechanism is useless...I saw on ebay copper replacement gears, if it breaks again then I will replace it with one of those :), THANK YOU!! Great tutorial, you helped me save 100 EURO on a repair bill :)

Ours had the same problem. Been waiting 6 months for a replacement part. HP says it's on back order and have no idea when it will be available (in Canada). I just found this video, followed the steps and now it's working perfect. Thank you, great tutorial!!!

Thank you very much. This small thing has just driven me crazy. The plotter reported a paper jam, but it was the cutter stopped in the middle of the trail. After I realised that it took me 30 min to move the cutter out because this broken cogwheel was blocking the movement all the time. Now I am going to fix this shitty part. Ugh. There is no such thing like cheap and good plotter.

Consulta: Yo tengo hp DesingJET530, en con poco uso y funcionando, pero últimamente el cuter hace ruido al cortar el papel. Corta bién el papel, pero al regresar del corte emite un sonido algo así como traca- traca-traca-traca. se desplaza libremente y corta bién, pero emite ése sonido molesto que me parce que está anunciando algo!!!
Me podrás compartie algún comentario.

hello thanks to your guide I have solved the gear problem. Now after a year of work I have another problem. the cutter stops with the 90cm paper roll, while it works great with 60 and 40cm paper
the weight is the same for all sizes ... in your opinion what could it be? Thank you very much
