Too late but if it were me I would have flung the slide at the moment of the explosion, that is to say on the explosive note. I can with just my arm strength fling the slide off the end of the trombone about 8 to 10 yards. giving the slide momentum at the moment of the explosion. May still be busted but the pressure wave would have only added to the force of my flinging of the slide.
ОтветитьOf course Jamie can read Russian 😏
ОтветитьFat electrician proved that the sniper scope was real first shot... just saying
ОтветитьI love episodes with fan choosen myths
ОтветитьThere is no way that fake grant is applying the same pressure and seal to the mouthpiece as a real person. are your lips metal? no, but I do think you could do better than that. Maybe put in a piece of rubber with glue to seal it off......not that they are doing this anymore. lol
Ответитьthou shall not use God's name in vain
Well thought out and executed video
for those who might be curious, it is actually really easy to banana peel firearms, demolition ranch did a video on it years ago when he was still small trying to test it out and found the easiest way is to just stick the barrel of the gun under water, but keep the action of the gun above water and that the gun will peel where the water level is. that said your finger doesn't not resist the pressure inside the chamber long enough for the gun to do the same thing
also for those curious about the mosin scop sniping myth, the fat electrician did a video with pewview to "more accureatly" test Hathcock's shot
I'd say for the trombone myth there is one thing that makes it plausible rather than outright busted. Human error. While it's not going to do enough damage to badly hurt or make someone nearly loose their head from the blast we still had impact in one of the first tests. From that point it's not unthinkable that the conductor reels back and ends up falling into the crowd while blaming it all on the explosion and impact.
ОтветитьHonestly, if you want fireworks for the 1812 overture, just get yourself a RYNO.
ОтветитьUnless you’re
Carlos Hathcock
You should not be calling this myth busted
“Hang on a cotton pickin’ minute” man this show is a product of its time 😂
ОтветитьOf all the things in this episode i hate they used a true russian import Mosin
Ответитьis there anything jamie hasn't done? Russian lit?!
ОтветитьPut the muzzle of a 12-gauge shotgun in a bucket of water and it will blow up like The Looney Tunes😂 steel is compressible but water is not
ОтветитьFans to hitting hammers: DON'T DO THAT!
Fans also: What I mean is DON'T DO THAT! if you were using this very specific kind of old hammers you could've been using. Do a bunch of crazy steps to get the hammers right and do what I told you not to do now, even though it's extremely rarely for anyone to ever do this again.
For anyone curious about Carlos Hathcock scope shot you can look up videos from this year proving he did in fact shoot someone thru the scope.
He also didnt use an M1 Garand
So...what did Jamie do with a tuba?
ОтветитьI literally saw a 12 guage barrel banana peel right in front of me. When we were teens, my brother, his friend Eugene & myself crossed a deep ditch while hunting and my brother got mud in the barrel. His friend Eugene had the wise idea to "just shoot the mud out Billy!". I was the youngest but I knew better. Id heard stories of backfires. As usual though, my brother ignored what I said.
First he put the gun to his shoulder but then a bit of sense kicked in and he lowered it to his side. When he pulled the trigger it actually didnt make a bang, it made a loud "doink!" sound and it kicked like a mother, so his arms flew behind him and he barely held on to the gun. When he pulled it back up, it looked just like an Elmer Fudd cartoon. My brother slowly turned his head to me with fear in his eyes cause he knew his as* was grass. The 12 guage was a family heirloom that now belonged to my uncle(still does but with a new barrel). We got in so much trouble for that cause we weren't even allowed to use that gun. So anyway, I know FOR A FACT barrels can banana peel.
Btw, That happened over 40 yrs ago and I still feel guilty about it. Thankfully my uncle can laugh about it now but I kinda wish he had kicked our as*es. I think I'd feel better now if he had 😄
I hit hammers with hammers everyday and sometimes hard. All i ever got was a small spark and little chunks of metal flying.
ОтветитьI have a scar in my arm from a cheap hammer chipping and the chunk flying into my arm.
Ответить"weren't you a bugler in the civil war" LOL
ОтветитьFat Electrician demonstrated that with the actually correct rifle, actually correct ammo, and actually correct enemy scope the White Feather shot is 100% doable. No clue why Mythbusters couldn't get the right rifle/ammo.
ОтветитьI don't get comments saying the shot happened.
Of course it did, but it's a one in a million shot. Not something you replicate. That's the whole idea.
I finally can confirm Tory's field.
I could tell he was skilled at making things. No wonder he's a model maker.
Can I just point out how brilliant and beautiful that last sequence with the 1812 was??
As much as we all love our Mythbusters, so much of the magic comes from the production crew!!!
They could have just stuck the guns barrel into water to get it to peel back like a banana
ОтветитьHammer myth ... They should have done the classic MB over-do ... Hammers impacting so hard until they do start shattering. And not just one impact, but many.
At the least that would illustrate that chips flaking off can be dangerous.
The Hathcock myth wouldn't irk as many people if they didn't seem to intentionally do everything possible to not test the myth properly, and then act very flippant about it.
Fat Electrician and Pew View did it in one take ffs.
It annoys me personally because the scientist in me is like, what else did they get so brazenly wrong?
But, to be fair, good on them for admitting their mistakes.
"trust adam to turn a trombone into an instrument of torture"
funnily enough, given hes never played a brass instrument before (i assume), and those being some of his first ever notes, hes actually got a lot of the embouchure stuff down and doesnt sound all that bad for a beginner lol
Man they really missed several important variables with the hammers. Too bad the show is gone now 😭
Ответитьthat photo is a photo of a squib round
Ответить2024: The Fat Electrician has worked with some firing range experts to reconstruct the PU49 russian rifle scope myth. and it is CONFIRMED on modern high speed cameras using period correct equipment and military experts in marksmanship and training.
ОтветитьThe split barrel definitely needs to be revisited again lol. If it was a single barrel not welded to another barrel it would have acted differently. Notice how the first barrel exploded away from the other barrel. The path of least resistance
ОтветитьBut why do they have to use an antique gun? Those can’t be fixed when they are broken because they are no longer made😢
ОтветитьI hate to say it but the "Damascus" they are talking about is completely different
ОтветитьWhite Feather says he shot through the scope, he shot through the scope. Why tell the story, so the shot was coincidental, instead of intentional? He was good enough for MAC V SOG, sniped a guy with an M2 .50, and was not known for lying or embellishment. Why make it up when you are the best already? Thanks to Fat Electrician.
ОтветитьRIP Grant
ОтветитьI can't help but imagine that the soul of some very evil person was condemned to inhabit the body of Buster and be able to feel everything that happens to him.
Neck of hammers was thinner and weaker than heads, hence they were going to break first - a myth busting is only as strong as its weakest link or smartest buster.
The stopped smacking the hammers after the crack formed - you're not going to notice that crack unless you inspect it - apparently the smartest buster is also the weakest link with those three...as usual.
My buddy got mad at work one day and hit a sledgehammer with his titanium stiletto framing hammer and the head broke off. I had a pretty good laugh 😂
ОтветитьGunny used match grade ammo. also Balistic Highspeed and The Fat Electrician made a video proving it.
ОтветитьWho’s seen the fat electrician myth bust of the sniper scope kill- after watching this old episode of the myth busters
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid binge watching episodes of this show I would always get annoyed when one of these revisited episodes would air. I’d already seen enough on the subject and just wanted fresh content. It wasn’t like I could just skip to the next episode then, as this was early 2000s. But re-binging the same episodes now at 30 I’m abundantly skeptical about literally anything, so I’m just like, ”F**k yeah! I’ve been stewing on this one...” 😂😂
ОтветитьI have hammers that have shards missing.
I have also had one split off the handle using a log splitter.
Still annoyed they did that to that shotgun. Should’ve just got a cheap Remington or something
