For those wondering, the performer in this video is singing in F# Major, but the score is in G major.

This confused me the first time I listened to it.

this song’s Chinese and Japanese versions were included in 2008 movie “ Cape No.7 “ and was very touching due to the story in that movie. go check out the movie if you have time, and you will have a brand new feeling about this widespread song. :)

Why it's not play with the right tone.

I commend the singer for capturing the horror of the text in the third strophe. This song potentially could seem to be too lighthearted a setting of Goethe's metaphor for sexual assault, but this performance captures the initial innocence and its violation.
