Hi Jacob. I don't know how words can explain what a magnificent piece you have created. I've listened to this song countless times and every single time I can't hold the tears. It just hits me and I can't explain why. It's gonna sound dumb but it's like an angel giving you a hug and telling you that everything will be okay.

As great as Jacob usually is, I have to say this particular version what's not so favorable. At least how he was playing and singing it. The vocalists were on point for sure GOOD LORD! But all that winding and bending vocals in the backgrounds was driving me nuts.😂 I'd rather have listened to them sing to the actual track😢

This is an incredible display of musical talent from all parties and it's captivating to watch. What I struggle with, is the arrangement being so non-traditional that the tension and release points I've been conditioned to expect in popular music, are simply not there. The pauses for emotional effect. The vocal quivers that convey feelings. The natural imperfections which breathe soul into the art. For me, the perfection and musicality in this performance leaves all those things behind in favor of technical precision, intricate complexity, and skillful execution of the notes. There's a crucial element of emotional power completely missing here. The audience is left thinking, "Wow, these performers are amazing." instead of, "Wow, I know exactly what that feels like."

You know how Andy Worhal painted cans of chicken soup and it virtually created a completely new art genre? Well for me, emotionally powerful songs such as, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" are nourishing for the body and soul, much like chicken soup. And while this performance may well be the Worhal painting of the musical world. That nourishing soup is missing from it.
