The first one can also be palm muted. It's going to sound pretty much the same.

The "Pro" way is just how i figured out how to play it as a kid. I dont think theres really anything about that way of playing it that makes it better or even much more difficult. If it is difficult instead of leaving the index finger in place after hitting the base note of the chord shift it back and forth between that and the not he is usining his middle finger to play. That will take some of the strain away and it wont make much of a difference in sound when palm mutining since the notes arwnt going to ring out as much anyway.

Theres no easy or pro way, thats just 2 different styles on how to play. The 2nd doesnt sound that good without having a 2nd guitarist
