If we cannot express our views/opinions/protests, then what are we supposed to do? Sit back and accept the demise of our democracy? We don't have any reputable news org in this country or even in the UK who will report facts about what's happening. The protests are not violent by and large, and are not riots. Chris Cuomo was removed due to sexual harassment. News Max used to be WGN--a superstation out of Chicago. I watched this video this morning and I just watched highlights from the army parade. The energy was so low! You nailed it. The soldiers marched as they didn’t want to be there at all, out of synch with one another, it was incredibly boring, zero energy. The parade sucked!

Please search multiple news sources as main stream media really cannot be trusted. Majority of us Californians are rallying behind Newsom standing up to the wanna be dictator.

Thanks SO much for finally doing Jimmy Hoffa. My father was a Teamster and I was a child whee Hoffa disappeared. I’ve always wondered how Hoffa disappeared. Trump sent in the national guard because this is part of his agenda to create fear and intimidation. During all the protests that took place around the country, the only real violence that took place was the MAGA people trying to run peaceful protesters over and the people getting shot with rubber bullets. Journalists getting shot who were not being provocative and the democrats from Minnesota who were killed. It is very clear who are the bad guys.

No riots in CA, native lived here my entire life. The peoole are protesting against ICE and tge over reach, black hawks flying over strawberry fields and farms is over the top in Oxnard and Ventura. The president and his administration are inflicting fear in our communites, they hate CA and our governor. Their conduct is harming innocent people unnecessarily. Our leaders are very good and for the people. There are trouble makers doing what they do at protests. Rodney King was a riot and I was here when it happened. The protests currently are mostly peaceful.

Trump is all about harm and force he cares nothing about the US or its people.

I think the concrete block and channel is the prison... The tunnel to the right might be his first suicide attempt, and the bunker when he was put on suicide watch?

The LA Police and TACO admitted most of the troublemakers were outside agitators, some of them pro-Putin groups. Mainstream media is useless for "on the ground" reporting. The channels to watch are small independent ones. I watched some of Hasan Piker's coverage. He was marching in a different area to the troublemakers; people were chatting and smiling and chilling out when, all of a sudden, a small missile was fired into the crowd (it may have been tear gas because it was smoky). There was no reason for it. And there was a news reporter who was with her camera crew. She was actually in the middle of her broadcast, filming in front of her crew, when for no reason (again) she was intentionally shot from behind with a rubber bullet. It was caught on camera. A couple of other random people were fired at, one needing hospital treatment. I'm from the UK, and the small, and luckily contained, amount of aggression I saw on the LA streets, was no different than a Saturday afternoon outside Highbury (Arsenal) when I was in my teens. And The Den (Millwall) was even worse!

Also, THERE IS NO ONE "BEHIND" the protests. Five million people peacefully protested this weekend because Trump is a seething mass of corruption. We US citizens have the right to protest and we are using it.

Cash, it wasn't a riot. Therefore, in answer to your question, people didn't go to a riot. It was a protest, and that's why people went. I live here, and almost everyone has overstated what was happening. Yes, there were a few people who went too far and needed to be arrested, but that's it. And the reason it began is that people are pissed. I mean people are REALLY pissed, and that dark place you saw could simply be the exhaustion and fury that people are feeling all over the U.S. these days. I invite you to witness parents being dragged out of their kid's school by heavily armed, masked men, as their children sob; or people being dragged out of their jobs; or people being apprehended as they exit a courthouse, doing exactly what they have been told they need to do. Do that, and then please tell us what you see with your own eyes.
Honestly, why do people look so hard to see who is "funding' this? Are we so far removed from activism that we no longer believe people will rise up and band together over a common cause? That people won't defend their friends and neighbors? God that's grim.
