Guys, can you give advice to someone starting out at zero, i mean absolutely none prior social media presence? I have been making music for quite some years but never bothered sharing. I have an album done now but no idea how to get anyone to recognize that music. Made an Instagram and tiktok account and am trying to be active every day, did upload on Spotify but 0 plays lol. A video on that topic would be so super helpful.
Anyways, appreciate your videos, I'm slowly learning from you. 👍

Where does the screenshot of the percentage come from? A specific distributor? I have never seen that information available anywhere before. Also a topic that I have seen very little information about is the "Like-percentage", you can calculate this yourself by taking likes/listeners from spotify for artists. I think this is a very good metric but havn't seen so many artists share this data to compare. Keep up the good work!

If you send a pitch, do only people from your country that work at Spotify see it? Or does it go everywhere. I heard that my country is so small, there is only one person currently working for Spotify. 1+1= 2 as in, labels are friends and get one step ahead. Not a lot of spots left for independents in our playlists. I actually see almost none. But if I pitch, could they also put it in broader playlists? Does It go to other people? Or are the independents from my country just F*cked?

The truth is spotify and all streaming platforms are a scamming artist. Do you know any business that sells their product for $0.003? I''ll wait because even coffee shops charge 20 cents for a cup. When you cell CD's and digital downloads you're making money from one transaction, so your fans can pay one time to have your music for a lifetime and because these music industry giants are so money hungry and greedy they don't want your fans to be able to have your music forever while they only make money from you one time. They want to make money from your fans as long as they are playing the song and this why they created streaming. and streaming is at the cost of your expense as the artist cause now youre suppose to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to create your music a.k.a your product for them to go and give it out for free as long as people pay for their subscriptions and that subscription money doesn't go to you it goes to them. and then they say that they won't pay you until you get 1000 streams like who are you to tell me when I should get paid for the product I made. Which means just one of your fans need to stream your music 20 times a day for a whole year in order for you to get paid only $25. Really think about how obsured, digusting and disrespectful this is to the artist. Any musician with a business mindset and common sense would not take part in spotify slaving away artist just so they can pocket all your money until you reach their "Threshold" and on top of that when you do surpass this threshold greatly they will try to steal your money by saying you have bots when youve never paid for bots in your life which all major labels hyper inflate their artist numbers with bots because their artist have listeners not fans, their artist are souless, non creative, robotic yes men that have no personalities, no depth, no creativity which is why they have 10 song writers, 3 engineers, 5 producers and the list goes on. If you drop a song every month at 99 cents per download on your own website for one year and you have 100 fans that buy all your songs you will make $1,118.00 for the year compared to $25 dollars for 100 plays on Spotify, and this is with a small fanbase, imagine with 1000 fans that would be $11,880.00 for the year and then imagine with 10,000 fans that is $118,880.00 for the year and this doesnt even include the money you will make from shows, meet and greets and merchanise and trust me in a world wiht 7 billion people having 10k fans is extremely realistic given you have the talent, personality and business mindset to get to those fans. And when you get to millions of fans if you have that rare ability and you don't sign any deals you will be a multi-millonaire and richer than all of these wack overplayed outdated copy paste broke artist on these outdated labels. The label artist can't even get 2000 people to their shows but they have 1 million listeners, make it make sense. Spotify is also a host for money laundering of these elite that own all these major labels and every label below them. Spotify pays the owners not the artist. The devil runs this industry so unless youre willing to partake in debaucherous parties and ritualistic events where you will be recorded for blackmail don't bother slaving away and investing your hard earned money to put it on a platform like spotify or any other platform. theres many musicians who make 5-6 figures a year just from selling their music on their own website that is not controlled by money hungry demons and you get paid when someone uses your product because thats how business works, spotify just brainwashed us into thinking their payout system actually made sense but it does not from a business standpoint thats why they sought after people are not intelligent because they will never question their unethical business practices and will be happy to take these little advances that are way less than what you would make if you sold on your own website. Forget burstimo as well because they are apart this whole thing by encouraging artist into this death trap. LABELS ARE A SCAM, SPOTIFY AND ALL OTHER PLATFORMS ARE A SCAM. SELL YOUR MUSIC DIRECT TO YOUR FANS ON YOUR OWN WEBSITE SO YOU WILL BE IN CONTROL OF YOUR OWN MUSIC BUSINESS. DO NOT LET BURSTIMO OR ANY MAJOR LABELS TELL YOU WHEN YOU SHOULD GET PAID AND IF YOUR MUSIC IS WORTH GETTING PAID FOR THEY ARE NOT GOD. THIS IS HOW YOU WILL MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR MUSIC WITHOUT GET SCREWED OVER. SIMPLE.

So now we have people spending a lot of time DMing their mediocre music to random strangers in order to get streams on Spotify. Then Spotify pays them 12 Cents for all those streams and keeps the lion's share. Wouldn't it be better to spend that time making good music? I am asking for a friend.

What is the best way to monetize a playlist instead of going through a middle man like SubmitHub without it being payola?
I curate my own playlists for fun but since I've had some success I want to monetize my YT and Spotify Playlists.
I've seen other curators essentially just have there Instagram or email in the description which I assume is just for Payola.
However, I don't want to get into trouble. Any advice?

The whole DM'ing every follower of a Spotify Editor is pretty hardcore man lol. That's 857 DM's for the first Editor example. Beyond the logistical pain of actually doing that, isn't there a risk of pissing people off ? Or does that not bother people in the industry? That advice is more shocking to me than telling Spotify which playlists you likely fit best on in your submission.

And are you sending like a link to Soundcloud before the song is out I guess with some generic note about who you are/why you are spamming these people? It's not like you can link the Spotify/released track since the point is to get onto editorial playlists which happen before the song is out.

Ehhh, as someone who just makes beats, I think it’s better for an artist now especially independent to go to Direct to consumer a little cult following of 10-20k people can really support a music career, $5-10 an album with merch, will beat any streaming revenue.
