I was part of nxivm and met Esther and met Eva… everyone they mentioned I met…. I am happy to say I got away before anything super strange happened to me …. But I did witness behind the scenes stuff that made me not really like it.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why he had so many people under his spell. They were all smart, beautiful, talented etc yet they were all agog at the sight of him. He’s so gross and down right repugnant to me and I don’t understand why anyone wasted a moment of their time on him.

I would refute the claim 'they acted normally' that night at the Sports Barn, Playing volleyball from midnight through to the early hours of the morning on a thursday is far from normal, you would think anyone overseeing a cult would have researched cults and conclude they never end well, apart from Scientology they all inevitably implode, I can't imagine controlling as much wealth as possible ethically would be much fun, sounds like a waste of money to me, not that he was ethical anyhow, still it's a novel idea.

As far as sexual harassment goes Weinstein, Cosby, Epstein, Raniere are nothing new, I grew up in the 60's and 70's and all you have to do is watch an old Bewitched episode to see what women were dealing with and what was acceptable then. None of what these guys did would be even questioned then. In the early 80's I had a boss's brother back me up against a hallway wall during a company celebration and stick his hand between my legs, another boss followed us out because he knew what this guy was like and stopped him. Nothing was done or said, I was mortified that I let myself get into that situation, and I was simply going to the ladies washroom. The cult aspect is horrific and I am not by any means minimizing what Raniere did, he IS a monster! My point is that however small, we are making progress and I applaud journalists like Chet who don't give up. I was unaware of what makes perfect sense about the state of journalism today and it saddens me to hear, it is dangerous times we live in.
