Is the 0x mech really harder than shapes in G3 that you use inanna there?

Star & Pentagon mech: Taking the 'incorrect' shape damages only the person taking it or it's an AoE effect/explosion?
For example can Bard just tank it via Rhapsody as a viable strategy?

Question:
Is it even possible to do Stars as Sharpshooter in HM?
At 140% attack speed my animations are still too slow comapred to the eyes. If I don't crit (despite sitting at 109% crit chance permanently), I cannot one hit the stars at ilvl 1560 with a +20 weapon and level 9 gems.
In NM Sharpshooter was amazing at doing stars. In HM it feels impossible by class and raid design.
