Scotland MTB - Ballater 'The North Wind Doth Blow'

From the slippiest ride on the last edit to the most dangerous ride I reckon I've done due to the remoteness, depth of snow making it slow going and temperatures way below zero with the windchill. It was difficult to keep your body temperature up and did get a bit touch and go traversing across to the summit of Heartbreak Ridge not knowing it well having only done it once before with snow on the trails made navigation very difficult. Also the video doesn't really give a sense of how cold it was out there 🥶❄️☃️

We did have the intention to do some stuff on the other side of the river but it took over 3 hrs to get to the top so by the time we were finished the only appetite we had was to go to the nearest cafe and get some hot soup and a brew which went down very nicely

As mentioned on the edit I had a blinking frozen dropper cable and Mark's shock was not working at all so whilst it was good to have some fun in the snow it just makes me want to go back again in better condition with a bike that works. Last time I did this the star ratchet sheared on the freehub on the climb 🙄, third time lucky I reckon
