Thank you for your video. One note I wanted to mention. I was unable to remove my bonnet nut with my channel locks. I found that a 32mm deep socket would fit the top the bonnet. Most sockets have a progressive slope at the entrance which makes it difficult to engage the shallow bonnet nut. Using a hacksaw I trimmed about a quarter inch off the opening of the 32mm socket. This allowed the entrance of the socket to be flat and fit the bonnet perfectly. I was able to remove the nut easily with my ratchet. Hope this helps someone else.

From experience…I would highly recommend that you know where the main water shut off is located. That way if you should run into another leak, shutting off the hot and cold water valves, it will save you lots of problems.
Also… close off the drain in case you drop anything in the sink and down the drain.
Hope this helped …..

The part you took of before the retainer ring is metal on my sink. How can I get it off it’s stuck after 25 years? I tried the way you did it and wd40 😩

A couple of suggestions: 1) Before you do anything else, pull the drain shut so nothing can accidentally go down it, like that screw that holds the knob in place, or one of those little springs. 2) Before you replace the knob, turn the water back on and check for leaks. If it leaks, tighten the white outer piece. THEN replace the knob.

One personal note: I used to fix scuba regulators and valves for a living and one thing I absolutely will not do is use channel locks or any kind of pliers on a chromed part. I always use a wrench instead to protect the chrome.

Hey there, thank you so much for the walkthrough video. The ball and piece that has the notch in it won’t sit down on the gaskets properly and keeps popping out. Do you know what may be causing this?

After removing the plastic ring (where you used the multitool), mine has no area to get a wrench on. It’s just a round smooth shape with some grip at the bottom. I cannot get a grip on it, how can I get it off without tearing it up? Other than this, mine is exactly like this one.

My retainer ring was different, it had a band to grip in the lower outside. But everything came off and went on in the same order as your demonstration. Had to change out a few more things since I had it open and available. Delta sells bathroom sink repair kits at Home Depot for about $16 and they contain all the plastic parts, washers, gaskets, and springs. Thanks.

Hey nice helpful video…one tip to those who may have a slightly newer faucet. When you put the Death Star looking ball back into the faucet, put it back in so that the small long cut goes in the right where the little metal protrusion sticks into the opening & orientate the plastic coupling into the detent on the left. This will allow for it to rotate properly. When you put the faucet handle back on it will seem loose. Dont over tighten it and don’t worry. When you turn the water back on every thing will tighten back up. Don’t put the aerator back on until after testing bc a bunch of dark gunk will come out bc of the installation process.

This didn’t work. Couldn’t get the plastic ring or the retaining nut to budge. Too much crud had accumulated over 30 years. Buying a new faucet. But thanks for this video, it was exactly what I needed.

Nice video and cleared up a couple of questions for me. Thank you. Suggestion: when you're giving instructions is best to not use terms like "you kinda do this or you kinda do that" Either you do or you don't Telling someone you kinda do this sounds vague and implies it's not really important if you do or don't. In repairs some things are very important and should be presented that way.

For you sir or anyone.....I have a stubborn rubber piece that does not want to fit over top of the spring and be seated inside the hole. Is there a failsafe method or trick to get that rubber piece to fit? The spring is correctly in with the narrower part facing outward, I could not get the rubber piece to go into the hole. Thanks in advance!

You know, besides the issues dealing with the prohibitions surrounding tattooing, the idea of bringing the Holy Name into a place of uncleanliness (your bathroom) is not the best thing in the world. I understand that people these days get a lot of tattoos and that alone is objectionable, but for a person to do this is absurd. In any case you obviously did not know any better. You cannot bring a bible or anything with the Holy Name into a place of uncleanliness or a bathhouse. You have a lot to learn.

As far as the plumbing video, good job.

Thanks for the video.
Keep up the good work.

You should lubricate (light film of faucet grease) on top and bottom of ball so it glides across rubber seats and and rubber top gasket .
