DAREDEVIL (2003): Better Than You Remember

I'm NOT ashamed to admit I liked this Daredevil film to, it has few faults infact & comes close to say...THE PUNISHER, and BATMAN BEGINS for it,s quality, the colour pallette of the film is superb, the lighting of the scenes which is telling a story itself, and a good choice of actors who create believable streetwise characters.
Now for the faults- the story is nothing new, but goes with the teritory I guess, i agree about the Affleck, Garner mating ritual went on for far too long, and the believability factor of a blind man doing all that is stretched to the limit, but my biggest criticism is the offensive F...ing costume design, which is allmost as guilty as the F...ing Robocop remake black power ranger costume they aproved.
Luckily they realised this would'nt do with the tv series (also good) but nasty at times, and so they came up with a much better design for that.& found an ironic way of explaining it.

It's also one of the few costumed hero films to use narrative, and has the twist of opening in a retrospective way, and then continues.

problem ,..after seeing even peters quicksilver getting beated to death by kevin feige wandavision..im fear about the rumors of charlie cox in the next spiderman movie

I really loved this movie. I don't know why, it was just so watchable to me

I love Batman and Robin. Like you said, you just need to ride with it, and enjoy the homoerotic cheese factor

The directors cut is a masterpiece minus the playground scene

I love 2003 daredevil I grew up with it and if you say it’s bad you never seen the comics a lot of it is from the comics😊

i love this movie for what it was and the costume was like comic the fight scene with elektra at the park is kinda cringy but i like the movie bcuz its not like now with mcu flims formula that shoves a joke in every scene and down ur throat i still prefer ben affleck as daredevil and jennifer garner as elektra i like the narration at the beginning showing his origins story it was straight to the point and showed what his weakness was and what he can do the only problem was they didn't have much to work with the movie came out in 2003 and ppl talking shit about it as if it came out today our standards todays wasn't like it was back then the visuals was next level like 90's blade movies.

i don't netflix version of elektra bcuz the actress has some sort of accent, it just takes me out of what's going on with the story when i watched it.

Such an underrated comic book movie, personally one of my all time favorites.

I dont care what anyone says this is one of those movies that made my childhood and ill show this to my kids one day. Love this movie i also dont take superhero movies seriously so i dont mind that its cheesy

As a Longtime fan of Daredevil I prefer the Netflix series overall, but this film isn't that bad

Dude idk what you guys are smokin. I tried watching this movie yesterday (the directors cut) and I couldn’t get 30 minutes in without shutting it off.
The fight scene with Affleck and Garner in the park is so random and ridiculous.
They also give daredevil the powers of Spider-Man…it’s just so silly and dark.
I want to love this movie but it’s just so silly.

I would love to have this movie rebooted but honestly I don’t have faith is Marvel to do it right. They would make it so Disney and childish it would make you sick. That’s the route they seem to be taking these days.

I Just watched it today and totally agree

It was a bad movie but it is the most rewatchable early marvel movie.
The music choices are weird but I don't mind it most of the time.
Ben aflack is a odd choice but a OK one not the real daredevil but not terrible.
Kingpin and bullseye are amazing in the movie.
Electra was bad should have had a better actress.
The Netflix daredevil is much better the true daredevil.
Thinking of it as a comedy helps idk .

Not gonna lie, I’ve seen Daredevil: Directors Cut 2003 and it’s actually not a bad movie at all i give this film 9.6/10. Not to mention, Ben Affleck played really well as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and the suit is alright.

It feels like and odd blend of the goofiness of early 2000s superhero movies with the edginess of Netflix marvel

To this date it's still my favorite superhero film.

Elektra is honestly the weakest part of the film other than that It’s a perfect Daredevil movie for me

I for one love Ang Lee's The Hulk

The film is a time capsule of early 2000s action films but I'll admit, I have a soft spot for it. Like you said, Michael Clark Duncan and Colin Farrell were pitch perfect in their roles, Ben Affleck does his best with the material he has but it's just not a strong script or a strong director. I feel like if this was given to more capable screenwriters and a better director, the film would've been amazing.

I loved MCU Daredevil series, but i really enjoyed the 2003 movie, it's still not great but i just enjoyed it

The Director's Cut kicks ass.

I think Ben Affleck's Daredevil should have got a trilogy without rushing him to fight Kingpin since he is the main villain.

The first Daredevil movie should have been about his origin "The man without fear" using the black suit and the villain could have been Mister Fear.
The second Daredevil movie would be introducing Elektra finally in his heroine suit and Thomas Jane's Punisher as an Antiheroic ally while the villains would be Owl and The Hand. Pretty much like Season 2.
And the third one would be something like "Shadowland" and "Born Again" where Daredevil finally gets to fight Kingpin and Bullseye, but Daredevil has the help of some of his fellows like Elektra, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Luke Cage played by The Rock, Iron Fist played by Joaquin Phoenix and Jessica Jones played by Anne Hathaway.

I actually loved the daredevil movie as a kid, back when it didn’t matter if the plot was even coherent

Getting hit by a train is rather harsh even for “sexual assailants” reason why I can’t watch the punisher

I absolutely love this movie it's what got me into Daredevil when I was a kid obviously the Netflix verisom is the best. But this film has a special place in my heart and I still want a sequel.

Actually in the year 1998, the movie Blade changed all of that, not X-Men.

Actually Wilson Bethel's Bullseye is so much better than Colin Farrell's Bullseye.

It's certainly more re-watchable than X-Men Dark Phoenix, Thor: the Dark World, Elektra, Green Lantern etc.

Daredevil, to me, is probably the MOST comic book accurate mainstream superhero movie. It features nearly every background character, every iconic location from the comics, and the narrative is structured like an actual comic book. The characters are 100% faithful to their personalities, and their dialogues are brilliantly written. The world building is near perfect and there's so many details in dialogues and on-screen elements that makes it feel like a real, lived-in New York, very immersive.

I remember this movie being so awesome. Just to learn later in life no one remembered it and those that did hated it
