It's so strange, I feel like Splintergraph was never tested with giants but instead of manacheat people just saw "ho big 10/10 charge for 10 mana"

Splintergraft actually saw a decent amount of play in Treant Druid paired with Mulchmuncher because the "10 mana" copy would end up costing very little mana.

Because with emerald bounty you could still discard or use the cards drawn for other costs (fusion, ritual, etc) it would still be very good in any deck that needs hand fodder.

I don't get the reasoning for flare, both from CGB and Cimo.
Like - why does it matter whether hunter, rogue or whatever have secrets? This card doesn't destroy your own secrets, it destroys the opponents ones. So why does it matter?
I'm sure there must be some reasoning, because it happened twice now and twice Rarran also didn't mention it, but I am just not seeing it.

Tar Creeper, Tar Lurker, and Tar Lord were all released in the same expansion (Journey to Un'Goro), so none of them was made into another. But I'm sure it's true that Tar Lord was put in warrior to support taunt synergy. As for Tar Lurker . . . it's just a bad card, idk. It should at least have 8 health.

Archetypes aren't really classes, theyre more like tribals

What I have learned from this videos is that having played WoW for 20 years and not HS, you'll be able to do better than the people who play other CCGs for a living.

announce darkness would've been a sick priest card tho because the priest tourist could redirect damage dealt to your hero

list of cards i got wrong:
- Peaceful Piper: i accidentally hovered over the timestamp before i could even make a guess
- Emerald Bounty: i initially chose shaman simply for the vibes of the guy in the art, but then i went with rogue
- Core Rager: i chose warlock because i mistakenly thought this was the same set as lakkari sacrifice
- Splintergraft: initially went with druid because druid can afford this but then i changed to paladin because it sets stats
- Announce Darkness: i thought this was priest for all the same reasons as cimo. additionally, the priest tourist from this set deflects damage dealt to you, which would synergize with warlock cards.

I can't describe my reaction to the brief consideration that Rogue would play Splintergraft, an 8 mana card that adds a 10 mana card to your hand

something important to note about flare: it specifies ENEMY secrets, which is a good hint that it was in a class with secrets

Hunter has flare as an ability in WoW, you would use it to find stealthed rogues/druids/nelfs.

There were two paladin cards early on, but Cimoooooooo forgot that alas.

The build up for announce darkness was evil... I wanna see CGB go through that now since you kinda went easy on him last video 😂

Priest had 1 mana draw a card with that lil spell that gave a minion +2 health

Oh Rarran just gave the answer for the last one, I didn't knew the card but he told everything to solve it.

LOL the complete bias against poor CGB is shown here... Almost all the cards literally contained the classes in their text.. BOO! Cimo deserves a challenge!!! Haha.

The thing that makes it clear to me that announce darkness is a warlock card, is the fact that it specifies that it only affects non-warlock cards. If it wasn't a warlock card why wouldn't it just say "your cards"?

Given how fast modern hearthstone is, maybe they should just reduce the cost of hero powers to 1 across the board and …oh god give demon Hunter a 0 cost hero power? Yikes.

It's funny how playing wow some of these card arts make more sense. Like the core rager. Extremely common for hunters to use that as their tamed pet so I knew it was hunter based on that.
