Anyone else think Elon Musk probably watches this scene with his pants around his ankles?

This SHOULD HAVE BEEN the intro to Prometheus not the Engineer death. This speech hit exactly that Prometheus was all about.

Why would they take a far-future saga like Alien and set its prologue in the near future? It was bound to get outdated.
My guess? Ridley Scott deleted this magnificently acted scene and turned it into a short because
A) The first act would have had a weird pacing since it already had the prologue with the ingeneers (which could have been solved by turning this into a recording shown to a character half-way into the film).
B) The 2023 date would have dated the film (solvable by just not mentioning a year).

Supposedly, this was filmed in 2012 or 13. Imo, his best role ever! Notice he doesn't name anyone specifically who created what they did. Sadly, he was struck down in Prometheus. Alot of ppl dislike the movie. I love it!

Ridley Scott stated if AI becomes emotional, we're doomed. David understood human emotions. Not Walter. Although he choose to destroy humans. 😳 I agree. We need to be destroyed. We are now eight months in the year of our lord 2024 and this presentation still gives me goosebumps.

Whoever edited Prometheus absolutely botched it so hard. Ok, ok… so maybe the studio was applying pressure to shorten the runtime and “speed up the plot”… but come on. Even a skilled editor could’ve taken this near 7 minute scene, and weaved it across the entirety of the film. So it jumps back every so often to another snippet of this speech… until the final scene where Weyland meets an engineer, the speech finally concludes. And it’s all the more tragic. “If you indulge me, I’d like to change the world”. Back to present… the Engineer bodies him.

Why do science fiction movies and shows predict so much advancement in so soon a time? From Star Trek to this, they predict tremendous advancement in 10-30 years from inception. 2001 a space odyssey same thing. I understand the 20th century was and has been an unbelievable boom in tech. But they need to take it a bit easy and double the timeframe at least imo

To those that understand the full, evolved and organized timeline of the Alien franchise in 2024, you know that the story remains one of the most authentic and well written works of modern fiction that still survives. So much so that things like this and it's tie ins to religious concepts, paranoia of the unknown and the uncomfortable nature of the questions that it's questions bring up about human nature, the nature of what we can create and the nature of what we come from are enough to put one into an existential crisis until the spell wears off and they remind themselves that this is just really good storytelling. I love things like this that break the 4th wall without admitting that's what they did. It makes you doubt for a second if there isn't some truth to it but of course that would be ridiculous right?
