I've had one for about 6 months now. Love it more than my big turbo cobalt SS. The comparison to the SRT4 is accurate. I've owned a neon srt4 and this feels like a more refined awd version of that.

I've been looking for one of these cars for 2 years and I finally bought one. Turns out it's the exact car from this video. Rare is an understatement

I have the exact color setup on mine, Velocity red metallic and "panda" interior. i've owned mine 5 years. i'm about 15k into it in aftermarket parts. It is truly an amazing car to drive and definitely requires extra attention. Going with cheap parts is not an option if you want long life. Great video!

Hey man! Been watching your videos for probably over 5 years. I remember looking for a fun car and seeing your 350z video. I ended up with the Mazdaspeed platform. Owned a 2007 Red MS3, fbo big turbo and it got me into the life lol. I now own a 2011 MS3 that’s fully built on auxiliary fueling, along with a 2007 Mazdaspeed 6😎 as a winter daily/beater. It’s got some light bolt ons but mostly stock. I LOVE Mazda and wish they kept the Mazdaspeed brand around for longer. Thank you for showing love to our platform! I appreciate your honest reviews! Under the small chances you actually see this comment, If you’re ever in the Chicago area and want to check out a fully built Mazdaspeed 3 and give her a rip be my guest!! She’s making over 500whp on a precision 5558😎😎😎 stay safe man!

The Mazdaspeed 6 is in a class of it's own, or rather...it's up there with the STi and Evolution 8's/9's. To compare it to a Focus RS is an insult.

I think this car looks absolute beautiful. A lot of hard lines, yet still sleek looking. The front doesn’t have that dreaded smile grille, and the fender bulge looks awesome. Not over styled, but definitely not boring looking like more modern mazdas.

When I went car shopping 2 years ago I seen one of these on the lot....I hated it.
Fast forward 2 years later, it sits in my garage.
That one test drive, I fell in love, even the burgundy color was cool.

We've got 6 mazdaspeed 6's and 2 speed 3's, all completely different, and all insane, imo best is the 2.5 swap BNRs3 speed6 we have, spins all 4 wheels in third and is brutal, ported DI head

I've owned a 2006 mazdaspeed 6 since 2008. Full bolt ons, bnrs3 turbo at 24 psi ( roughly 340 awhp) Kw suspension, evo 8 brembo brakes. The car is a riot. 266 xxx kms. It still shifts like butter.

The look I use to get spanking mustangs and Camaro's was priceless. I use to tell them it was the v6 mazda 6 lol 😆

Mazda was underrated long time. They made better cars than Toyota, especially since this generation’s Mazda 3 and 6 appeared, their quality is outstanding, on the solid bodybuilding, accurate handling, reliable brake, and plenty of power delivery from the engines. I’m glad to see that finally many people started to recognize their quality, and the beautiful designs.
Now I really wish they make a sport sedan and wagon with the new inline 6 with the rear drive structure, it must be amazing!

I had a ‘06 Mazdaspeed 6, exhaust, intake, turbo inlet, upgraded engine/trans mounts, plus the Cobb AccessPort the car was at around 300 wheel HP. The next step for me would have been the high pressure fuel pump internals.
I did the timing chain and VVT actuators myself with a friend over a weekend, loved this car and it was the perfect combination of fun, sporty and practical.
Also, it flies under the radar from cops, isn’t at high risk of being stolen or stripped..
The parts can be very expensive from the typical auto parts store, or unavailable.
The trick is to find good parts online and have them shipped to you.
Also knowing that the CX-7 turbo, the Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 all shared the same engine platform so that can help open the field when looking for parts

I owned an RX-8 and then a Speed 6 loved both of them but the Speed 6 with its all wheel drive was much more practical in winter snow in central New York. Rx-8 handled better but the Speed was my favorite... my kids called it a wolf in lambs cloths because of its awesome performance.

If I’m not mistaken that “Subaru” sound is due to unequal length headers. Technically, if you put equally length headers on a Subaru boxer engine it will scream like other 4 bangers🤘🤘

I wouldn't call the speed6 cheap. It's certainly not a cheap car to maintain and it drinks fuel if you put your foot down! It has a much better more rigid chassis than the focus rs. I don't know why the video title even compares them. There is nothing 'ford' about the speed6. They are two very different cars.

Here in Germany it was known as "MPS" Mazda Performance Series. My dad had one of the first cars sold here in Germany back in early 2005. It was manual only. This was the first car I drove after I obtained my drivers license back when I was 18. Dad removed the stock airfilter and put one of those K&N cones on. I recall it having an all black leather interieur. Seeing a creme interieur seemes a bit odd to me as Mazda sold them speced up with the only option we were able to choose: 4 colors (white, grey, black and red) Navigation yes/no and sunroof yes/no.

First of all how dare you in the title compare the Mazdaspeed 6 to a Focus RS. The Mazdaspeed 6 is all-wheel drive if I remember correctly the Focus RS is front-wheel drive. Second of all the Mazda speed 6 is a sleeper and can be tuned to be a Supra killer. I have never seen and never will see a Focus RS beat a Supra. The only car that Ford built that could probably beat a Supra is maybe the GT40 but that's about it. And last time Ford had any involvement with Mazda they developed the RX-8 and we all know how much of a s*** show that was and with most Fords being crap the Focus RS is crap. The Mazdaspeed 3 is on par with the WRX and the Mazdaspeed 6 when tuned right is on par with the Toyota chaser and even better than the Supra when tuned right. The Mazda speed 6 is a wonderful Sleeper Car. Please don't compare it to crap like the focus the Civic is more on par with the focus

Had one for 7 years. Took it everywhere: Dirt roads, snow (and I live in Australia), 11 hours of roadtrip driving in a day, everything. Awesome car. Only sold it because Mazda just didn't provide parts any more.
Mind you, disagree with his comments on the clutch. In my experience EVERYONE stalled it the first time, it had a weird, long take-up.

Mazdaspeed6 owner from 2015 - present. It's the first car I picked up and still reliable to this day. Run premium, change your oil with top notch stuff, don't push more boost out of that little ko4. Don't boost under 3k rpm's, easy on the throttle so you don't lean out the air-fuel mix. It benefits majorly from a richer, less emission focused tune. It is showing its age only with the window motors and having to fabricate a hinge for the driver side door. Picked it up at 86k miles, it's at 138k right now. r/mazdapseed has many 200k+ mile posts. Only major work has been a thermostat replacement, and replacing the clutch, throw out bearing, master/slave clutch cylinders. Good, reliable car if you drive it properly and maintain the engine. The MZR 2.3L is beastly with reliability, and the forged internals of the turbo-direct injected model keep it that way.

You made the comment the shifter sits lower to the ground. For folks that are vertically challenged like myself 5’1” it makes shifting a lot easier because we have to sit right on the steering wheel.

Okay last comment, each car kind of has its own personality or “vibe”. The one phrase that came out of my mouth the most in this car “It’s sassy” you expect docile and sweet instead it’s like you have firecrackers beneath your seat.
