It’s weird but this was the first LOZ that I finished and I started playing in back in the late 1980’s on the original LOZ. I’d get into a game then just never finish.

The biggest problem with the figurines is that you do not get real figurines.

Just got to experience this for the first time on Switch online

I just beat the game, and I feel good that I only missed two heart pieces, the mirror shield(which I don't know how to get yet, and 35 figurines! After the irritation of playing Phantom Hourglass, this was a welcome return to basics for me, I really don't have that many complaints, which are mostly just little nitpicks. I will complete it..one day

For those who don't like the figurines, they can be completely ignored. I like the art they did for them. I did 100% the game so I know how tedious they are to get

Never felt the figurines were too bad. Getting some as I went worked out okay enough that I only needed to grind for maybe the last 12 or so, and there's an in game item you can buy that helps with this majorly
I hope he used it when grinding

Just finished. Turns out I missed the light arrows. WELP.

Just finished this game but oh my god I lost the light arrows because I didn't know what to do, apparently I lost a mirror shield something with the gorons and A LOT of things because I have no people to fuse kinstones with now that I am at the endgame whatever I do. This would be the perfect 2D Zelda if there was no way to lose stuff while playing the game doesn't make it clear what to do most times...

Idk...this game always had such a cozy and homely feel to it which i loved

I hope they remake this game like they did with Links Awakening its long overdue man i LOVE this game

I know I'm late to comment on this game, but after beating it several times since its release there are a few things I wish they thought about.

1. The Pegasus Boots run attack, I think its a cool detail that if you run without the sword equiped that you won't do the attack. However I feel like it would have been easy enough to make the attack optional while the sword is currently equiped by pressing both A and B buttons to do the attack.

2. Roc's Cape, the jump attack should be doable at any point during the jump and glide animation, not just immediately after the jump.

3. While you have Pegasus Boots and Roc's Cape you should be able to do a running jump.

4. The lantern should have a short range flamethrower (at least 3 blocks attack range directly in front of link) if you pair it with the gust jar.

5. Gust Jar + Bombs should be a bomb launcher.

6. Lantern + boomerang or magic boomerang should be flaming boomerang for lighting torches at a distance or around a corner.

7. Bombs + boomerang or magic boomerang. No explanation needed, its a boom-erang... Lol.

8. Bombs + arrows... Also no explanation needed.

9. 4 sword cloning should create only the number of clones you want. Hold the charge sword button, walk over the panels and release the charge sword button when you have the number of clones you want. After getting the 4 sword there are some places in the game you can no longer access because the puzzle only has enough space for two clones side by side or 4 clones in a straight line.

Obviously for the bombs, throwing them should be 3 spaces, wind jug should be 5 spaces, boomerang should blow up when it makes contact with something or right when it stops before returning, and bomb arrows should be until they hit something.

If we get another 4 swords adventure I think these combos should be looked into as possible options for the game.

For the figurines, you are also always better off betting one shell. The way the RNG works, it decided what the next figure was the second you walk in the shop. Everytime you're in the shop you get a new seed. It's not wholistic, meaning if you get a dupe at a 13% chance, you will probably get a dupe on every other number, but there might be one or two random numbers that get you a new figure, but basically, don't waste the time.

Only spend shells for 100% once you're near the dozen or two.

The fact that ALTTP and OoT were displayed at the beginning in stretched 16:9, but the gameplay from minish cap was displayed in 3:2 is mind boggling 🤯

This is the only 2d Zelda to hook me .. I loved it

To be fair I grinded out the figurines in an hour yesterday on my first play through, I was pleasantly surprised how many shells you can find easily for those last few sub 10 percent chances

To me Minish Cap is like a Zelda fanfiction

It took most of Zelda assests across the yeara and made a story, even Vati is very wattpad tumblr like

I remember loving this game so much because I stole my copy from my cousin and he legit forgot all about it until I told him years later and we had a good laugh! lol

I was never able to get into Zelda games in the past. I was much more interested in faster paced games. Just recently, I set Retroarch on my phone and decided to download Minish Cap. Gotta say, I'm hooked. This is the first Zelda game I'm motivated to actually play and finish. I highly recommend people play it.

I just finished this game today, and... damn! i wouldn't doubt about playing it again. Time for me to test my Minish Cap knowledge in a Rando seed!

Surprised he didn't mention the missable Light Arrows. I'm about to finish it on the Switch and decided to look up all the upgrades before going to confront Vaati. Turns out if you don't do a random side quest in the clouds before the story ever sends you up there, you can't get the Light Arrows.

Gives you the best shield after you've beaten the game.

I’m playing this right now on the new gameboy advance service on switch.

He tried to tell me... He tried to tell me!! "Finish it" he says as I'm running around Hyrule for the 20th time trying to find the 2 Kinstone trades left to do. I haven't even begun the figurines yet.... Why didn't I listen!

A bit of feedback: 5 main dungeons, one small mini dungeon (kings grave) and the final dungeon (DHC), I find this not a small number of dungeons

And yea Minish Cap is a 10/10 to play, as long as you don't take the extras (particularly the gambling) too seriously.

About the figurines, I've found that the most cost efficente way, but time consuming, is always bet 1 shell.

The Kinstone fusion system is a good idea in theory, but terribly executed. Many people who own kinstones will not fuse with you or even tell you they have kinstones, until a certain event happens, which can be as late as after you entered the final dungeon. That means you not only have to talk with everyone , you have to keep talking with everyone every time you have done something important.
The same goes for the Minitendo Gallery. Your chance of getting a new figure gets lower the more you have. You can increase the chance to 100% by paying more seashells, but there are not nearly enough shells in the game, making completing it extremely grindy, unless you know you are not supposed to bet more than 1 shell until the chance is down to 20%. Like with the kinstones, the Minitendo guy will not bring out all figures until you have nearly completed the game. So obviously, you will only start betting seashells then, right? Wrong! Shells max out pretty fast and all you collect after that are wasted, so you have to buy figures at a really wasteful rate.
