A Russian-American woman has been sentenced to 12 years in jail after donating money to a charity supporting Ukraine.
Ksenia Karelina, 33, was found guilty of treason by a Russian court after transferring $51.80 to a humanitarian aid charity in February 2022.
Ms Karelina pleaded guilty to the charge but denied knowing the funds would be used for "anti-Russian activity".
She donated to the charity Razom for Ukraine, a New York-based organisation that provides humanitarian aid to children and elderly people in Ukraine. The charity has denied it provides any military support to Kyiv.
